from Google"I went there twice and loved it every time. It is located by the creek and you can actually feel the Alaska vibe. It is an all you can eat buffet and the salmon is super tasty. It is located about 15 minutes drive from downtown area. It is quiet busy but the service is fast and there are plenty of places to seat. There is a souvenir shop and WC. They have their own shuttle and if you go on a tour you can catch the shuttle to downtown on your convenience. It is a magical place with an amazing waterfall and salmon swimming upstream. The staff and owners are very friendly. They have live music, usually a guitar/singer."
"One of the highlights of our cruise! Such a peaceful place with wonderful food and scenery. All the seating is covered, and heaters are provided in cold weather. The food was tasty and plentiful. The salmon delicious and the cheese potatoes heavenly. Clam chowder was fabulous, and they offer wild blueberry cake and smores provided for dessert. But the park itself was so lush, and peaceful to explore and photograph! From the old mine machinery to the beautiful waterfall, I wish we had had more time here. Flowers, tiny forest mushrooms, wild blueberry bushes, a musician singing old folk songs while softly playing guitar.... So restful!!"
"Excellent place!!!! Phenomenal staff!!! Delicious Salmon!!! I came here for a tour, and it was definitely worth the money. The salmon with brown sugar syrup or sauce was a nice touch on the salmon. The salmon was so fresh it felt like they just caught it that morning, and the cooks made it very tender. The lemonade was very good, and they even offer s'mores as a treat. It was definitely worth the try."
"What a lovely experience! From the moment you step into the property you are immersed in the most beautiful setting, served delicious food, and can even enjoy a roasted marshmallow and the delightful music of the local performing artists. Highly recommend. Grab a souvenir from the cute little gift shop and take lots of pictures in all of the little corners that showcase area plants and woodwork!"
"The setting at Gold Creek Salmon Bake is beautiful...surprisingly tucked just off the main road, but it feels like you’re in the middle of the woods. The short walk to the nearby waterfall and old mine is a lovely bonus, with interpretive signs and a chance for kids to “pan for gold.” The experience is definitely geared toward the cruise crowd. It is a high-volume and very touristy kind of place. The chowder station offers tiny sample cups, and the buffet includes salad, slaw, scalloped potatoes, beans, BBQ meats, and a separate area for grilled (not baked) salmon. Lemonade, coffee, and a tasty self-serve blueberry cake are included. Soda and alcohol cost extra. Live music adds a nice touch, though I felt bad seeing a sign asking guests to tip the performer, it made it feel a bit awkward. There’s also a small gift shop onsite if you're in the mood for souvenirs. Overall, it was a fun and convenient outing with friendly vibes and nice scenery, but the food was just okay, not memorable. If you're looking for a truly local, high-quality meal, you might be better off elsewhere. Recommended for first-timers wanting the “Alaska salmon bake” box checked."
