from Google"We had the pick two, one with ribs and turkey and one with brisket and ribs. The food was great for the most part. The brisket was not my favorite at all. Kind of dry and not much flavor. The ribs were really good as was the turkey. The collard greens, salad , and fries were great. I tried the banana pudding. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely some of the best banana pudding I’ve had."
"I stopped by for lunch while passing through and decided to give it a try after reading the reviews. Overall, everything was very good. The ribs were a bit dry with a tougher exterior, and the brisket was also on the dry side, but I still enjoyed the meal. The beans and slaw were flavorful and complemented the experience nicely."
"New BBQ joint in the downtown Birmingham area. Fantastic food and we got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. I ordered the Brisket and Gravy special and it was good! I also tried some of my coworkers ribs and they were super tender."
"Not a bad barbecue joint, but we also weren't particularly impressed. Went for lunch on a Saturday, and they were busy but not packed. Great interior that's full of character, with two covered patio areas for outdoor eating. We were a little surprised at the limited number of sides; the "side of the week" was collared greens when we visited, so such barbecue staples as mac & cheese or cornbread would only be available on a rotating basis, if at all. Sauces are also not available at the table but provided in cups with the order; unclear if more is available by request without additional charge. Staff was friendly, and food was ready quickly. Ordered a pulled pork plate w/ beans and a side salad and a brisket plate w/ beans and fries. The pork was good, and shredded fairly fine. The brisket was okay, but no visible smoke color gradient. Beans and the salad were good, with some real pork shrapnel topping the salad. Fries were pretty standard thick crinkle cut. All in all fine, but there are a number of other local places that beat them soundly on quality if you're looking for good barbecue."
"I decided to try it after hearing so many rave reviews. We went after work and I must say I wasn't very impressed. When I first arrived, I stood at the front counter for about ten minutes and no one acknowledged me. I sat down and waited on the rest of my party. When they arrived they knew we had to order at the counter so they handed me a paper menu. It put me in the mind of what I'd expect from a hole in the wall barbecue joint. In the country though it's in a up and coming urban part of town. The menu is very limited even for a barbecue place, I must say. They didn't have the bbq side staple of potato salad. Food arrive pretty quickly and it was hot. The ribs were good, not great. My dates chicken and chopped brisket were alright my date liked it. But it was dry and had too many gristle pieces for me. Sides; greens had a decent flavor could have been great with some additional seasonings, mac and cheese was cold and flavorless, fries were also cold though cooked to my dates liking, prob would have been overcooked to most. I will not be returning. For the price they can keep the hype."
