from Google"We've eaten at most of the Pihakis Bros restaurants so I hope this is a fair assessment because we really like them. Open room with lots of seating options. No waiting for a holiday Friday night. No problem parking but don't know what a busy night brings. We ordered Classic Hummus and Tzatziki. Both sauces were excellent and especially the roasted chickpeas on top. Warm pita made fresh there was excellent but with ordering two large apps - we got one plate of bread (4 pieces) and were brought another plate - but charged for it. We had plenty left over but no bread to eat it ... we didn't want to pay for three plates of bread (I think this is my only 👎🏻). Just a little thing but when you pay these prices for dinner - you can't throw us a little bread ? All portions for dinner were large and plentiful. The side Greek Salad was huge, fresh, and tasty! Souvlaki plate, souvlaki pita, meatball pita - all great. Loved the seasonings on the chicken. Apples to oranges - we would rate Magnolia Point higher but try both and see what you think. No cocktails - water all around - two apps (upcharge for extra bread) and four meals - $130 without tip. Hayes our server was excellent. Kept the water filled and made good suggestions."
"We decided to try Tasty Town for a late lunch after hearing mixed reviews. We walked into high ceilings and clean modern atmosphere. They have what seemed to be a decent bar near wide windows with a view of the street and railroad. The food was less than satisfying. We both wanted lamb but were advised that for over $50 we would receive 3 small chops so we opted out. We ordered the greek chicken that was not hot or well seasoned and came with rubbery undercooked skin. The sides; stewed green beans lacked seasoning and were also luke warm, rice was just rice no pilaf to it, lemon potatoes had a nice lemon flavor and the village salad was as described. We also ordered the Garden Hummus which came with a tablespoon of yellow peppers only on top & spanakopita, received 3 which though good both appetizers were worth $6-8 at the most not over $10. The attempt at a fine dining establishment I think is a miss at Tasty Town. This was far from a fine or even satisfying dining experience. I left feeling robbed and still hungry."
"My girlfriend and I ordered avgolemnon soup, rotisserie chicken, potatoes and lima beans from here on Doordash. We got the food quickly, it was still hot. We were really looking forward to a good meal after a long day. The soup smelled terrible immediately upon removing the lid, it was far creamier than I expected it to be, I'm no stranger to this soup and I've had fabulous lemon chicken orzo soups. I couldn't tell you how this was prepared, it has stunned me it was so bad. Really, I'm not a picky eater, I took a few sips to really process what it was and I couldn't take another. That was disappointing enough. The chicken was fine, tender, love lemon and herbs on chicken but who doesn't, its too easy. I thought the beans were pretty good too. The potatoes? Again, my brain couldn't make sense of what had been done to the potatoes, the two things I simply couldn't bring myself to eat were inexplicably tart and at one point had me questioning if they were safe for consumption. It's incredibly frustrating to spend so much money on the one delivery meal we treat ourselves to and to get food that is so bad we can't bring ourselves to eat it. Please, Tasty Town, I beg of you, get some help in the kitchen, send your kitchen staff for training, bring someone great in to offer training, anything. With all the Greek culture here in Birmingham there's no excuse to offer bad Greek food."
"This restaurant was much better than I was expecting. The restaurant overall was clean, had high ceilings, and had nice restrooms. I liked the vibe, it wasn’t very loud and there was nice Christmas music playing at a good volume. I ordered the half chicken with fries and stewed green beans. I received a big portion of juicy chicken that tasted like lemons and herbs. The only bad thing about the chicken was it was difficult to cut. The fries were nice and crispy but a little over salted. I didn’t like the stewed green beans very much but tbh I am not from the area and didn’t know what I was going to get when I ordered them. Our server was nice and helpful. I’m not the biggest fan of Greek food and I thought this place was pretty good. I would recommend it if you’re in the area."
"The service and food quality are superb and reliable. The hummus annd spreads anre my favorite and pita (made in house) takes it over the top. Atmosphere is nice, clean, uncluttered, and cool with a view of the beautifully landscaped Railroad Park. One of my favorite go-to restaurants in the Magic City."
