What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Great atmosphere that was open and bright - there are plants around the space and a lot of natural light with large windows at the front. Plenty of seating and great decor. They were very friendly when taking our orders and our drinks and fruit bagels were delicious. We plan to meet here again when in town."
"Great shop! The barista asked me to check my drink to be sure it was sweet enough. They adjusted it for me, and I love that! It's a great little spot to catch a warm drink and a cozy place to read a book. Lots of natural lighting. Comfy chairs and couches. Great staff!"
"Very disappointed in the recent downturn of High Point. Not only are the staff inexperienced and unfriendly, the drinks are consistently below average. The final straw for me occurred when I ordered a hot chocolate for my son and was handed a cup that looked like dirty water... essentially warm water with a squirt of chocolate syrup. When I brought it to the barista's attention, they stared at it for an uncomfortably long time before asking, "Do you want me to remake it?" Unfortunately, the second attempt was still poor. For what should be one of the easiest drinks on the menu, the result was unacceptable. Beyond the drinks and service, the atmosphere has deteriorated significantly. The obvious use of AI-generated marketing makes the business feel cheap and inauthentic. Much of the local art/goods that once made this space special have also been removed. I have young children myself and understand that kids are not always quiet or perfectly behaved. That said, the level of disorder I have repeatedly observed here goes far beyond occasional noise. I've seen children tossing board game pieces on the floor and leaving them behind (when I went to pick them up, I was told by one of the owner's children, "Oh, don't worry. My mom will clean that up."), running through the space, intentionally slamming themselves onto the ground, and just being generally chaotic. This behavior has become routine rather than the exception. In a cafe where people are trying to study, read, or have conversations, this is disruptive and inappropriate. What used to be a cozy retreat and a place I regularly visited has lost the qualities that made it special. Until there are meaningful improvements in drink quality, professionalism, and overall management of the space, I cannot recommend High Point."
"i came here for the first time last week. the staff was not very welcoming, and there were children loudly running and stomping around. my hot latte was warm at best and had no sweetness to it at all. even when i asked for more sugar, it tasted bad. i also ordered a grilled cheese with sun dried tomatoes. it was mediocre at best. i wanted to enjoy it here. there are not many sit down, cafe style coffee shops in decatur. however, i wasn’t even able to read in there because it was too noisy and distracting even with my headphones on."
"Cozy place and friendly people. The honey almond latte was delicious & my toddler had a great time at their princess party. I love that they do little events like that for the kids."
"They serve a great capachino in a porcelain cup! We also had the sausage and egg sandwich on a bagel and it was awesome L Ambiance is very nice!"
