from Google"Great store with everything I'm used to finding for my family and can't find anywhere else yet. Culantro is one of our favorite herbs to get here yams of different kinds and cassava. Various nuts and Asian spinach other greens and vegetables along with fruits you can't find in other stores. There is an amazing bakery here and a restaurant with delicious food. Thank you so much to the Manager and everyone who works so hard for us to eat our favorite healthy foods.❤️❤️❤️"
"Montgomery is a food desert. The only grocery stores that are affordable for most of the population here are Walmart- with their paltry variety of vegetables and fruits, and massive lack of quality. If you want something more, you can change the farmers markets to see if they have anything outside of the southern staples, or spend much more getting it from one of our more unique markets. I can not begin to state how much this market has saved my opinion of how hard it is to find good produce in terms of quality and variety. It is a DREAM. I was able to stock up on produce for two weeks for less than $100, and were a “mostly”-vegetarian household. It smelled like my childhood grocery stores in Texas, and that was my first sign it was going to be good. Also, they have changed my world view entirely on Tamales. I’ve only ever had Corn Husk tamales, but I’ve been completed converted to Banana Leaf tamales!"
"Excellent meats and sea food.. old style butcher shop that can cut any cut of meat you want. Good prices, christain music playing creates a peaceful atmosphere.. they have fresh produce and products from all over the world."
"My husband and I went to this store early in the morning. I got 1 fuzzy squash from the produce section. In the squash section, the price is listed as $0.99 / lb, but right after checking out and getting the receipt, I noticed that the cashier scanned it as $1.99 / lb instead. I’m still at the store so I notified the cashier that the store has it listed as $0.99 / lb and showed the cashier the picture of the price section I had taken while shopping. I’m not sure if the cashier understood but she said that the price of the squash is $1.99 / lb. I then told her that I want to return the squash. The cashier then took the squash and brought it to the Asian man employee (manager?) to refund. I told my husband to give the Asian man the receipt so he can refund it (after all, whenever you do a refund at a business, they ask for the receipt right?). The Asian employee asked my husband why was there 2 receipts (we the customer had the original receipt that the cashier gave us and the 2nd one might have been a newer one that he himself printed afterwards, I’m not sure.). Then instead of talking with my husband and continuing with completing the refund with him, he leaves his office and all of a sudden the Asian employee started to yell at me in a loud voice saying he’s going to refund my money back etc. It’s early in the morning and he is yelling loud in the store in front of over 20 or so people (customers and employees). I was not rushing him or anything, only making sure that he, the employee or whatever, had the grocery receipt so that he can complete the refund. I have gone to this store multiple times for over a decade, and I have often noticed that the price that they have listed for produce sometimes differs from what the cashier puts into the checkout system when scanning. I didn’t do anything wrong, I’m over 50 years old, so to get spoken to in a loud yelling voice early in the morning makes me quite angry and this is not a good way to treat your customers. I have also included a picture of the pricing of the squash section. As you can see, it shows that both Bangli & Fuzzy Squash is 99 cents a lb. It is the responsibility of the business to ensure that the pricing that they have on their products is correct. If it’s not and the customer wants to do a return / refund, then calmly accept it instead of being bitter about it and acting as if it’s the customer’s fault."
"I can get what I need for different recipes that I can't in our local grocery store. The produce and meat are always fresh, the store is clean and the Mexican cookies in the help yourself glass cases are delicious 😊. The 80 mile drive is well worth it."
