"Happened to eat here on a Tuesday. Had no idea that meant it was Taco Tuesday, but it was. All tacos are 4 bucks. Best deal in town!! Even at full price these tacos are the best deal in town. Once in a great while you stumble into a restaurant that changes your life, SoCal is one of those places. Every taco (I got 4 just because I couldn’t decide) was spectacular. So much meat the shell couldn’t close, the flavors would make you want to smack your mama. LOVED this place, I will go again if I ever get back to Tuscaloosa. Roll Tide! Just kidding not an Alabama fan, unless it is the country band. The tacos were amazing, atmosphere was amazing, and the location was easy to get to. A must try restaurant."

"SoCal used to be my favorite restaurant in Tuscaloosa. During our last visit, we had the worst experience. To start, the salsa was horrible. Tasted like chemicals. We ordered our drinks and they took a good minute to get to our table although, there was maybe 3 other tables in the restaurant occupied and double (at least) the amount of employees working. service was slow and overall very mid. Upon receiving our food, our two tacos came with rice and bean, which would be great if they weren’t clumped together like they had been sitting in a tin all day and cold. The black beans looked like they were put in a blender and spooned out onto our plate, also cold. As we sat and ate our food which was not even brought out by our server, we were not checked on once until the end of our meal. All of the servers had been sitting and standing around the bar where their friends were sitting, eating, chatting, and OPENLY hitting their vapes the entire duration of our meal. While our tacos ultimately tasted fine, all of the other aspects made me want to never return. The prices on the menu are outrageous for the size of the drinks and food. Basic menu items like pico and guacamole are way overpriced. I’m unsure why people would choose this restaurant over other Mexican restaurants in town, and seeming how there were 3 tables full on a Friday night, I’m not sure many do"

"I love tacos, but these were below average to me. I had the fried fish taco and the Cajun shrimp taco. Just not good. The fish had a heavier breading than I expected. The shrimp were small. They make fresh crafted margaritas which are good and the service was good. I wish I had read the reviews before I went. I couldn’t eat the beans and rice on the side either."

"Our bartender CG was absolutely fantastic tonight!! We grabbed a few drinks before sitting at our table and she was working very hard. She was very attentive to me and my wife, even though she had three full tables of about 10 people at each and a bar top. We watched her give the same great service to everyone and make drinks at an impressive pace. She was delightful and always smiling and I still can’t believe she was able to handle us all. When we sat at our table we could see her serving another wave of people. This time it had to be at least 40, but she wasn’t breaking a sweat! She was very funny and gave us delicious drinks before we sat down. The food was also very good. We thoroughly enjoyed the vibe."

"We decided to try this place out before going to a concert with friends, and we all LOVED IT!!! The food was amazing, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was perfect! We will definitely be back!!!"
