What People Are Saying

from Google & Yelp

"The older population of Apache Junction love this place. It has an old dive-diner atmosphere. I took my Mother-in-Law here for her birthday, as it is her favorite breakfast restaurant in AJ. We have been there several times over the last few years, but usually later in the morning. There are plenty of seats, but it is always packed. Everyone in your party has to be there in order for you to get put on the wait list. Get there early. We arrived shortly after 8 a.m. on a Sunday morning and there were only a few tables left and they filled up fast. Make sure if you wear hearing aids, to bring them, as it will get loud. Do not use hearing amplifiers. They will just amplify everything in the room. The service is great and every employee was nice. The food came out fast, too. She had eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns, I had a Denver Omlette, hashbrowns, and fruit. I ordered a side of sour cream and salsa. The omlette was good, the fruit seemed to be a canned fruit cocktail. Fresh fruit would have been nice, but most places serve melons, and I don't eat honeydew or cantaloupe, so it was good. I rated it 4 stars for 2 reasons. First, the hashbrowns were just okay. They had a weird flavor. I only ate about half of them. Second, while I understand why they have the rule, I don't like having to wait for our entire party to arrive. When multiple families are congregating from different locations in the city, it adds additional time when we could have gotten seated sooner, since there is usually a wait anyhow."

"Our family ate here for breakfast. Got seated quickly as the place is bigger than it looks from the outside. There were a ton of cars in the parking lot...so we figured it must be a great place to eat. Old school restaurant & we loved that. The food was great, staff was friendly & checked on us constantly. The food came out promptly, was delicious & good portions were served. The eggs, biscuits & gravy, waffles, etc. were great. The only thing we weren't fond of...was the ice water. LOL We hear the ice water along Apache Trail isn't so tasty. Nothing they could help, but we didn't drink it. LOL Would definitely go again."

"Laid back diner, staff are really nice. Food is good and filling too. I got the Denver omelette with hashbrowns and sourdough toast."

"I really wanted to like this place, but it was far from anything special and really fell short of kind of basic cafe in general. The service was decent, so that's why I gave it 2 stars. I grew up on biscuits and gravy. These biscuits were so incredibly dry. They crumbled with every bite. I've never experienced such horrible biscuits. I was asked about 10 different sides, but it wasn't explained that each one had a charge. Which I get, but I had already said I had never been there and I was asked about the sides as if they were options that came with an entree. So essentially I paid almost $15 in just extra sides - gravy, eggs, bacon, toast, etc. None of it was worth a penny. The French toast was super bland. And I paid for the specialty - which was so not worth the extra price. Instead of the basic toppings (that came in a little cup on the side) I asked for blueberries. These were canned blueberries and tasted absolutely disgusting. We ended up boxing everything up and taking it home. This place was the biggest disappointment and not worth a penny spent."

"When I started my job in December 2023 across the street from MD's Cafe, being a foodie, I noticed that the parking lot is full every morning! So, naturally..."
