What People Are Saying
from Google"This is such a cool little coffee place. I really like that they close late for a nightly coffee break. I really like their coffee specialties and their great combinations. I like how during the week they have something going on. It gets crowded sometimes, and there could be times when there’s only one barista, so it can take some time to get your drinks. Patios outside are awesome when the weather is nice, but parking stinks with limited parking spots in the back."
"Five friends and I walked in to Awa Kava and discovered a cliquish hangout. We really wanted to buy and try a local business vs. St*rb*cks. A few in the party were a bit put off by the friendly German Shepherd dog that greeted us. (The fear of dogs is real and doesn't make the person a hater.) But that isn't why we left. The place was crowded with people bellied up to a counter watching sports together on the t.v. monitor kn the other side. We weren't sure where to order at first. Then we saw the window. The barista came and stood there, but just looked at us. There was no greeting. One tall table could have seated 2 of the 6 of us. But we wanted to stay together. I looked into a large room with overstuffed seating which would have accommodated us, and the 3 people sprawled out on the furniture. It was bitter cold with temperatures well below freezing, and I hoped maybe they would move together and perhaps offer us some of the ample seating. I even poked my head in and greeted them. They looked up and saw us, but didn't blink nor offer even an apologetic excuse, like "Sorry." It was evident they had a lot of practical experience in deflecting others willing to share a little space with them. If only they had had the heart to slide over and make some space for us. Their party and ours could have fit in the space with room to spare. I walked back again and stood in the doorway again, but they scarcely looked up. The woman waiting at the window perhaps was hoping for all of us to order and leave. But we left. It made me wonder how many people came and left that day without buying coffee? I suspect the owner is struggling to keep Awa Kava afloat since it is clear it is the living room of a group of entitled patrons who have no desire for paying guests."
"Super cool little kava bar! Great staff, amazing atmosphere, and legendary vibes. 10/10."
"First, I would like to say that, the two owners of this coffee shop were absolutely amazing! 🤩 they were super kind, super helpful and informed us about the Kava! (Which, by the way had an instant amazing impact on us) The Hawaiian Highlight is what we got and we freaking love it😍😍😍 This is the cutest, most hippie little coffee shop and we will definitely be back for more!"
"8/20/23: One the most perfect spots I would chill at everyday. The dirty chai was excellent with happy service. Highly recommended. The atmosphere is a comfortable beach vibe."
