from Google & Yelp"Stopped in for breakfast after getting off work early, thinking my day couldn't be any better. I was wrong. Laverna's Coffee Shop blew me away. I got the Chicken Fried Steak with 2 eggs, Hash browns, and Biscuits and Gravy. I also had a Hazelnut iced coffee. They were all very delicious! The Chicken Fried Steak was tender inside and crispy on the outside. Seasoned well and the best part? The owner has made sure that each one cooked gets a layer of gravy underneath so it doesn't slide around. I personally loved this because I get gravy on both sides of every bite. The Hashbrowns just as good. Crispy on top without being burnt and soft underneath. Seasoned perfectly with salt and pepper. The Biscuits and Gravy were also satisfying. They make their biscuits from scratch in-house and the sausage gravy was great! The Hazelnut Iced Coffee was pretty good as well. It's on the sweeter side but still had a wonderful flavour and a nice aftertaste. The staff were also wonderful. Great conversationalists and attentive. They all were in great moods and seemed happy to work there. The banter back and forth was amusing and they all had great senses of humour. TL;DR The food is great and the staff even better. The folks at Laverna's made my day that much better and I wish them the best. 10/10, will be back to eat again."
"My grandma and I used to go here before she passed away and it had been quite a few years since I've been, but it was exactly the same, including the living room in the kitchen tables. The staff was less friendly but definitely local. The biscuits and gravy were flavorless. I don't know why you would treat those amazing biscuits with that tasteless gravy.. the portions were exceptional and the surprise cinnamon roll for my son's birthday was memorable."
"If you are looking for a great taste , good portions, and great experience, this is perfect for you. I got greeted as soon as I came in and taken to my table. They served black coffee with refills as you would expect in a proper breakfast place. I ordered the Spanish omelette which was off the hook, they cooked the eggs on point. The biscuits with gravy were a killer and I would eat those all day long. I also got a cup of chili, it is one of the best ones in town I can guarantee that since I eat out every day. Hope you enjoy the meal and that the ladies taking care of this business keep been as real as they are now. Cheers!"
"Such a lovely hidden gem! It’s very welcoming and homey. The portions are generous and worth every penny. Will absolutely be coming back :)"
"Definitely a hidden gem in Tucson. On a side street off Broadway, a must stop if in Tucson. Was greeted right away and before I was even comfy in my chair they brought me a cup of coffee! Love these litte mom and pop café and coffee shops. The portion of food I got was huge, but small enough to finish. Wish I would have discovered this place sooner!"
