What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"I grew up in San Diego and went to high school in Solana Beach at Santa Fe Christian so all of my friends who lived close by in North County were all huge fans of Pipes and we visited frequently during those years. I myself am from La Jolla so I’m not close in the area, but I stopped in today after a 15 year break and it was just as good as I remembered it. It was quite busy on December 26 in the morning and even though it was packed, our order was made very quickly. Parking is really easy because you can just park in the giant Seaside Market parking lot right across from the restaurant. The menu is not very large, they focus on breakfast burritos and small breakfast plates, such as eggs and pancakes, as well as offering a large coffee selection. Pricing is extremely fair and the portion sizes are very large. The breakfast burritos could easily be split between two people and they will even split the burrito for you if you ask them when you’re ordering it. Today I chose the #1 Sausage Breakfast Burrito and really enjoyed it. I especially liked the avocado and egg combo and just loved the simple and hearty flavors. Overall, it’s a really solid breakfast burrito spot in a really pretty part of San Diego. I love how close it is to the water, I appreciate the casual vibe, and I was really happy to see that it was just as good as it was when I was much younger. I will definitely be back and would recommend."
"Awesome little beach bummy breakfast joint. Cool shack vibes with delicious food. I did some sort of pepper omelet. It was huge and tasty. Practically all patio seating which I am sure is fine in this area. I'm guessing the retail has sort of grown around them because they don't exactly have a great view, but it's fine. Not too noisy or anything. They also had reasonably priced merch, and so now I have a trucker hat for Pipes in St. Louis."
"Father's day morning was packed! Service was quick and staff very responsive. Loved the potatoes, perfectly seasoned with melted cheese! Big portions! Best Strawberry mangoe banana smoothie I've had!!"
"I stopped here with a friend and our babies after walking on the Cardiff rail trail. I’d driven past this cafe before but never stopped in. I’m so glad she convinced me to try it! The food was outstanding. I ordered a number 5, which is a breakfast burrito which has eggs and potatoes in it. The staff was able to accommodate my request for modifications (no eggs, and adding cilantro). It was delicious and the pico sauce add just the right amount of spice!! The inside is so cute, with surfer vibes but a very positive and relaxing energy. The staff is extremely friendly and upbeat. We didn’t even wait 5 minutes before our food was ready, which is crazy because the line was out the door! The bathroom is super clean too, the whole place seems to be up to par in terms of sanitation, which is always a relief. The table we sat outside at was also very clean and the umbrellas offered a nice shade, which was nice because we both brought babies under 1. I am so happy that I found this place, I already loved the rail trail for walking and now I have a new favorite place to grab a bite to eat after!!"
"Came based off the reviews of the potatoes, ours were burned and not seasoned, eggs were alright, pancakes were alright but very buttery, service was fast and good and location is pretty, food just not all that"
