"On Vacay in Carlsbad and we wanted a local breakfast spot that would be delish! The Breakfast Mug did not disappoint! We were greeted with a warm smile and seated right away. They made sure we had coffee to drink while we decided on breakfast. The strawberry waffles and Chicken Machaca were amazing 🤩. This a perfect spot for Sunday morning breakfast."

"Pros: good portion size (at least for the breakfast burrito), cooked fresh, and very tasty. Cons: price is a bit high. Got the breakfast burrito and I highly recommend. I went when it was not busy and got my food pretty quickly. They do advertise that their food is cooked fresh and not rushed, so it could be a little bit of a wait. The avocado on my burrito was outstanding and the fries were seasoned just right. I did say it is good portion size, but it is reflected in the price (for pro and con). For the price point of it I definitely could have gone to another burrito chain and spent a few less dollars for about the same portion size. I do recommend if you are wanting a good breakfast burrito."

"The Breakfast Mug is such a gem! It’s family-owned, spacious, and has both indoor and outdoor seating depending on what you prefer. The interior design could use a little updating, but honestly, that’s quickly forgotten once you meet the staff and taste the food, they’re out of this world. We had been trying all vacation to get up early enough for breakfast, but kept sleeping in. By the time we finally made it here, I had planned on breakfast but couldn’t resist the Verde enchiladas. They came with Spanish rice and non-pork refried beans. The rice wasn’t really for me, but the beans and enchiladas made me feel right at home, enchiladas are my all-time favorite dish, and these were done perfectly. To go with our meals, he had a peach bellini mocktail and I had a cold brew. Both drinks were refreshing and delicious. My boyfriend ordered the steak and chicken quesadillas. They’re normally served with shrimp, but the restaurant was kind enough to make them kosher for him. He loved every single bite. The serving size was huge, four massive triangles, so we took half to go. He ended up eating them post-workout later and said they were just as amazing cold as they were fresh. The service here is so friendly, the food is made with care, and even the bathrooms impressed me, super clean, with no overwhelming chemical smell. If you want a great meal paired with true family-style hospitality, definitely stop by The Breakfast Mug. Whether you sit inside or outside, you won’t be disappointed!"

"Hair on my husband's plate, Hair on the bill clip, the waitress was drenched in perfume so much that it triggered an instant headache and nausea. The waitress pressed steak on my order instead of chicken that I ordered. Instead of making me a new plate they removed the steak and placed chicken on my Chilliquiles. Because my tortilla chips and sauce set so long while the chicken was being cooked my Chillquiles were completely soggy and mushy. Do not recommend."
