It was a little slow-going as there was only one employee working at the time we were there, but another one arrived as we were leaving. The prices on the board didn't reflect what was charged for the coffees, so that was a little disappointing, but the coffee was so tasty that it covered for the mismatch. We took our items to go, but the outdoor seating area looked so inviting that we wished we could have stayed!"

"As a cheese stop: The French woman making the cheese is delightful and clearly a passionate cheese expert. An absolute gem in Carmel Valley built with love. The black pepper gruyere was so good we picked up two. Happily also got two delicious soft cheeses to bring home. As a cafe: Excellent coffee and matcha. 10/10 technical croissants, as you might expect from a French owner. Ample, comfortable outdoor seating configured for bigger groups around a fire pit or cozier smaller tables for couples and quads. Cute, curated shop with local made pottery and other artisanal goods. Snacks are on the gourmet side."

The ice cream is on another level: rich flavor, smooth texture, and nothing artificial tasting. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. The service was quick and respectful, not overbearing. They let you choose without pressure, which I appreciate. The place itself is comfortable, aesthetically solid, and perfect whether you’re stopping by alone or with people. If you want quality over hype, this is the spot. Definitely worth coming back."
