from Google"I used to live at Adobe, so this place was our go-to spot when craving shaved ice! It's one of the must-stop-by spots whenever I swing by Davis. Being there brings me nostalgic memories. We ordered a large mango bingsoo with some mochi on top, and it was really tasty! I got to know their owners, who are also UCD alumni. The mango was fresh, and there is a side of condensed milk that you can add to the bingsoo if it's not sweet enough. The portion was generous. Highly recommended if you are in the area!"
"Discovered Korean shaved ice while visiting Davis, CA. Mildly sweet, better than the shaved ice in Hawaii that resemble icy snow cones I had as a kid. The Korean version is like fluffy snow sweetened with condensed milk and fresh fruit. The only downside is that it melts quickly, even in an air conditioned space. Bring a friend to share one so you can finish it before it melts. Highly recommend the mango bingsoo with a side of red bean; the tropical flavor of ripe mango compliments the sweetness of the condensed milk based sweetener. I would give it five smiling pandas!"
"My Hokkaido pearl milk tea with boba and pudding was terrific. Even though I requested 0% sugar, it tasted like 50%, much sweeter than expected. The teahouse is large with plenty of seating, minimal decor, and high ceilings. I liked that there was plenty of parking outside, unlike downtown Davis. Cons: the teahouse smelled overwhelmingly like 409 and fabuloso, so much so that I left immediately. The high ceilings didn’t help with ventilation."
"Gave 4 stars for service only because there was a tiny flying insect nearby. Don't let that deter you from going here. I mean, the cashier and owners are so welcoming, the shaved is out of this world, and the atmosphere is so lovely and relaxing. Outdoor seating is available. I never had Korean shaved ice, but it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Prepared with so much creativity and skill, you will not be disappointed. Gotta try it!!"
"Giving it 4 stars solely because of the customer service and cleanliness of the actual venue. I've been picking my orders up here for a couple of years now and I'd say 95% of the time, the staff isn't very friendly/personable. I'm never greeted when I walk in the door or inquire about my order. I'm rarely told "thank you" and that just seems to be the norm. On nice days they should 100% open the big sliding doors for some fresh air - it can get stuffy when it's busy. The glass also needs to be cleaned more regularly - it's gross. However, it gets 4 stars, instead of 2 or 3, because their bingsoo is SOOOOO GOOD, as is their mango sago (to die for!). If it weren't for those 2 items, I'd never go back, but I can overlook the lack of customer service, stuffy air inside and sometime appearance of uncleanliness for the mango sago and mango bingsoo (my fave)!"
