from Google & Yelp"The donut texture has a slight mochi (chewy) texture in the center. It’s not as heavy as traditional donuts and it tasted pretty good. Despite the store name and the hype of the delicious donut, the main product of this store is sweet beverages. The innovative lid gives you options to drink from the lid or with a straw. The store encourages customers to order through the touch screen, it’s convenient as you can see all options and pay instantly. Your order goes straight to the kitchen, and the customer receives a message when the order is ready."
"The mochinuts were so tasty! The consistency is similar to sesame seed dessert balls without the inner filling and sesame seeds. Minimum purchase of 3 mochinut. Be careful walking inside the store when it’s wet since it’s super slippery! We saw two people slipped while we were waiting."
"I’m not a boba fan generally but my family is and I brought my daughter with to try out this new addition to the Davis scene. We ordered their specials: Tiger Brown sugar latte and Crème Brûlée Boba latte. We also decided to try the unique looking mochinuts. Both boba drinks were really good although, with 50% sugar, mine was still very sweet. My daughter, a boba connoisseur, really enjoyed her Tiger Brown Sugar latte. What I liked most was the mochinuts. They reminded me of homemade donuts my family used to make as a kid. They have a very different texture (almost doughy) than a normal doughnut but that’s what I liked the most. Because you have to buy at least three (didn’t like that part) we tried the: cookies and cream (good but sweet), churro (very good) and the Raspberry funnel cake (our favorite). I really enjoyed T% and will be back soon."
"Note that they are not currently accepting cash, only credit/mobile payment. Also, donuts can only be purchased in a minimum of 3 for $9 (no single donuts available). There are two kiosks to order with and waiting to order/enter the store took longer (around 10 minutes) than receiving my order. I went around lunchtime on Sunday and there was a line of people, mostly because we were unsure if we needed to follow the sign that a maximum of 8 people could be in the store at once. Once I ordered, my donuts were ready in 5 minutes and I could pick-up at the counter. I got the matcha, Kyoho grape, and ube-churro donuts. While there is definitely the springiness I expected from a mochi donut, I thought the flavors were a little light. In particular, I did not taste any hint of ube in the ube-churro donut. My favorite was the matcha and I would recommend getting frosted donuts, as the sweet frosting complements the lightness of the dough and provides most of the flavor. Staff were friendly and, since Mochinut is new, I believe the quality of food and service may improve as they become more established. It's fun to have an option for mochi donuts in Davis and this is a great place to visit with family and friends!"
"Mochinut is at the forefront of the new donut hype called mochi donuts. Made with glutinous rice flour, this donut has a much stretchier dough. Personally, I think it really does taste better. Less sweet and more flavourful. You order and pay with self-service machines and the service is fast. Take out only, 9$ for a box of 3. I also really enjoy the ball like sections, it makes sharing donuts much less messy as you can easily break them apart. Mochi donuts also go well with a bubble tee, perfect afternoon snack!"
