from Google"Love this place! Coffee is superb and the baristas really know their stuff. Special mention to the batch brew (especially if you like funkier co-ferment roasts, like me) and the sparkling tea (for those who don't drink coffee)."
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped into Necessity Coffee looking for a non-coffee drink in the afternoon and ended up trying one of their sparkling teas — so unique and perfectly fall-inspired! 🍂 The barista was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and patient with all my questions, which made the experience even better. The space had such a great vibe, and I can’t wait to come back and try one of their coffee drinks next time!"
"Do not sleep on the drink specials! This isn’t some frappe overly sweet cream coated mess. Balanced flavours that complement each other perfectly. I can’t remember the name of the combination but espresso with Turkish fig and orange rind, vanilla. Scrumptious!"
"This place is a bit off the beaten path, tucked away on one of the suburban side streets. Their espresso is SO delicious. My drink of choice is a cortado, and it’s just about perfect every time. They have a variety of more complex coffee, and matcha beverages, so there’s something for everyone. The baristas and owner are super friendly and take pride in the coffee that they brew. i have also purchased their beans on several occasions which are definitely pricey but so worth it to have their delicious coffee at home. The beans also make great gifts for friends and family who love to hone their coffee craft at home. I don’t live in the area but my parents live in Carlsbad so I come here almost daily when I’m visiting. I usually have my coffee there and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s such a treat!"
"Went to necessity at 9:30 on a Friday and it was pretty slammed with barely any standing room. Ordered a pastry and a matcha to go and went outside to try and find a seat to wait. There was construction next door adding to the noise. After hearing my friends drink get called (who ordered the same thing 5 mins after) I asked about mine. I was told by the barista that she threw it out because I took too long to pick it up. (Max 15 minutes?) I apologized and said it was loud outside so I didn’t hear my name. She said she’d remake it. I went back outside as it was still crowded inside and watched through the window to make sure I didn’t miss it again. Another 15 minutes passed but no sign of my drink. Went back inside to wait, as there was no line anymore and I figured she’d gotten through the backlog of orders and could do mine. She made eye contact twice and started making new drinks for people who had just arrived. I waited another 30 minutes and never got my drink. Wanted to enjoy this place but felt like a weird passive aggressive way to treat a customer? I would’ve just drank the latte if it had gotten cold, and no this isn’t a food safety issue considering it was 65 F out and milk can stay out for ~2 hours without spoiling."
