What People Are Saying
from Google"This place has the craziest portions you'll ever find anywhere! I get a large Asada fries and it feeds 3 people and we have leftovers. I could never eat anything I order by myself. The food is always freshly made amd hot. The chicken flautas are so good! I highly recommend!"
"Breakfast Burrito is huge. I’m a big dude and I can eat just over half. Good flavor and well made. The salsas are both really good. Down here for a week and I’ve gone twice."
"Meat is bland and dry, cheese and fries turn into a dense ball of carbs. It's not really worth finishing. Halfway through eating it, the burrito deconstructed itself which forced me to switch to a fork which, along with napkins were not readily available. Look, if you're not supposed to carry the burrito around in your arms like a small child before you eat it they really need to add a disclaimer."
"I went to Pepes on Sunday for a breakfast Burrito (Shortyz was closed) and was very disappointed. I got it at the drive thru about 7:30 AM before the restaurant opened the doors. I live 2 minutes away and went straight home. When I took the first bite it was hardly even warm. I put it on a plate and microwaved it. Upon opening I noticed there were french fries inside (whatever) and the beans were all at one end. I ate half of it and could already tell my stomach was going to disagree with this food choice so I stopped. Indeed, it found it's way through my body very quickly. Maybe the fries were from the previous day? I don't know. Needless to say the rest went into the trash. Won't be going back."
"The food is 2-star quality, low grade, fried, unhealthy Mexican comfort/junk food. But the worst part is how expensive it is for such terrible quality. Add to that the way staff treat you rudely because you don't get "tip shamed" into leaving the extra tip when you swipe your card, and this place is a hard pass. There are better authentic Mexican food joints all around this neighborhood, so skip the B level fried food (it's all fried garbage) and head to one the much better (and cheaper) places around the corner, like Taqueria De Anda or Cocina Azteca where the food is actually cooked in front of you on a grill and the ingredients are fresh...places like Pepe's is why our society struggles with obesity and diabetes"
