from Google"I'm confused. "Latin American" cuisine. The restaurant looks nice didn't expect Hayward to have a restaurants like this. I really like how the space is divided - almost like one side works as a sports bar while the other leans more toward a sit-down dinner vibe. It works well. This is labeled as a Latin American restaurant, but the food felt more like American cuisine with a Mexican/Latin aesthetic rather than truly Latin-inspired flavors. The salmon itself was incredible—honestly the best salmon I’ve had. It melted in my mouth, which was a first for me. But the sides didn’t really make sense together. Brussels sprouts were fine, but they didn’t feel like they belonged on this plate. The purple side (looked like refried beans) was the most confusing part. It tasted sweet, almost like a dessert, and it was very heavy—especially for a brunch dish. Having such a large portion of it didn’t balance well with the salmon at all. Halfway through, I asked for hot sauce—and once I added it, the dish finally clicked. The two hot sauces were perfect with the salmon. That made me feel like the dish wanted more bold, Latin flavor but didn’t commit to it. Personally, I’d ditch the purple mash and the Brussels sprouts, replace them with something more flavorful and cohesive, and just serve the salmon with a proper hot sauce on the side. 4 ⭐ only because of the trio appetizer. It was good , essentially it's ceviche using halibut, ahi tuna, & shrimp."
"I was frankly hesitant going jere because of some of the menu items - seeing deconstructed paella and Italian food at a Spanish restaurant were red flags in my mind. That being said I was pleasantly suprised by my experience. Tje flld was good, staff was all great and the restaurant felt quite nice. I did find it to be a little on tje pricy side but not a rip-off."
"This place was a total hit! Food was amazing and service was excellent. We each had a salad and then shared the meat platter. The kale salad was out of this world and was a really nice size. The meat platter was perfect for the three of us. Only downside to Toro is the acoustics are bad. You can hear every conversation and its really loud."
"Great atmosphere, delicious food and healthy portions. Lamb chops, Salmon, parillada Ceviche were amazing. Highly recommend. Definitely coming back !!"
"We grabbed reservations online before we arrived at 6:15 on a Friday night. We were greeted and brought immediately to a table in the main dining room. The table was situated under a fan and we mentioned we would like to move. The staff was extremely accommodating and offered to turn off the fan or bring us to a different table once it was available. We opted to change tables and were very pleased with the new location. Our server brought our drinks for us and was very thoughtful. We ordered several appetizers and one main to share. We got the deviled eggs (with no bacon), the grilled shrimp on polenta, the beef empanadas, the tequila marinated beet salad and the Australian lamb chops. Everything tasted so brand new to us! It was very exciting eating all of the different items. Our favorite item was definitely the grilled shrimp on polenta, the sauce was amazing with it. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection and the potatoes and broccolini are a perfect combo. The beet salad dressing was delicious and tangy and the roasted pepitas were a fun texture for crunch. The deviled eggs were a fun bite with the little sweet pepper on top. We really can't wait to come back and try more of their items!"
