"Great location! Great food! Free two-hour street parking right outside the door (if you can find a spot). This is a typical Southern California diner with great breakfast and lunch items. The coffee is good, too! Our party of four loved the omelettes and child burger! Important note: CASH ONLY, but there is an ATM conveniently inside the diner."

"Cash only! I was down in Long Beach in the morning and have been to all the other diners and coffee shops in the area, but for some reason had never been to Chuck’s. It has a great location right next to the water and there is a lot of free parking surrounding the restaurant, which is extremely convenient. It’s quite small on the inside, but they have a lot of tables inside and out and they seem to turn quickly, so you most likely won’t have to wait very long. The menu is pretty small but has a lot of good classic items on it. Our server was not the most polite and took about 15 minutes or more to stop by after we sat down to get our drink order and then took another long time before she came back for our food order. Everything arrived a lot slower than I am used to for the diner or coffee shop so that was a bit of a surprise. For my breakfast I chose the #3 Omelette, which is Beef and Ortega Green Chile and thought it was pretty good, although not nearly as good as other versions that I’ve had recently. The chile didn’t have as much punch as I’m used to and it was honestly a smaller portion than I usually get at other places. I also felt that the beef wasn’t seasoned at all. It wasn’t terrible, but it definitely wasn’t memorable and I would not suggest ordering it. I also was not a huge fan of the coffee. It tasted a little bit bitter to me so overall, I don’t feel that I will be back but would encourage anyone who is in the area to give it a try."
