"The Arroyo is genuinely one of my favorite drinks in LA. The lavender syrup is truly the best damn lavender syrup I’ve ever had. The interior is amazing at their original location here in Highland Park, with a really cute patio as well in the back. It’s significantly busier than their DTLA location but this location really puts it all together very well. There are plenty of tables that are good for chatting or studying, although whether they are available is a lot more hit or miss than in DTLA."

"The food was delicious!! Wouldn’t have expected it from a coffee shop, but one of the best breakfast spots I’ve been to in a while. What really won me over was that the chilaquiles were actually spicy🌶️!! Coffee was solid I got the vanilla latte (good amount of coffee flavor, the vanilla didn’t mask it). Edit: second time I went chilaquiles were not spicy 🥲"

"It’s official I really love highland park. This Civil location is tucked away in the cutest area by a railroad. Interior is nice, lots of seating, good vibes. Drink was solid— they were out of a few things so had to pivot, but it was great. I don’t think Civil would be a regular spot for me, but it’s certainly a solid one and good for studying."
