What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"This place is incredible. All of their pastries are delicious and the entrees are equally tasty. Plus they have a full coffee bar. It's in a really subdued part of town as well so I've never had a wait when I showed up. My bf and I usually get at least one pastry to share and then our own breakfast dishes. I often get the pork or beef bowl which has lettuce, grains, eggs, and veg. He likes the breakfast quesadilla. The lattes are excellent."
"Stopped by Doubting Thomas for brunch and ended up really liking the place. It has that relaxed neighborhood vibe, and it’s super close to Dollar Hits (Filipinos know that spot!), so it’s easy to swing by before or after. We ordered the Chai ( Muddy? Dirty? forgot) and the Seasonal Cream Top Cold Brew. Both were decent—not amazing, but not bad either. The cold brew cream top was the better one of the two. The desserts were the real highlight. The Passion Fruit Pie was bright, creamy, and had that tart kick that makes passion fruit so good. The graham + macadamia crust was buttery and crunchy without getting soggy, which is rare. The heirloom apple, blackberry & vanilla custard hand pie tasted like a warm, cozy fall dessert. Crispy outside, soft and fruity inside, and not overly sweet. You can tell they really care about their pastries. For food, we tried the Veggie Breakfast Burrito, and honestly it tasted like something you’d get at most breakfast spots..sorry to say..nothing special, but very fresh. The Thomas Burger was the stronger pick. Juicy patty, melty cheese, a soft sesame bun, and the thick-cut fries were super crisp without being greasy. Service was quick, and the cashier had a cheerful, friendly vibe, which always helps start things off right. Overall, solid brunch spot. The pastries are the real reason to come...the passion fruit pie with the graham macadamia crust is absolutely worth stopping for."
"I really wanted to like this place, but it falls short and I really don’t ever plan to go back. The place itself is aesthetically pleasing with a cozy chic vibe. Oddly most of the tables were wobbly and not the correct height to seat level. So the table hits at your knees when you’re sitting hence bending over your table more if eating. The only 2 things I semi-enjoyed were the dirty chai latte and the carrot cake slice. And the semi is because the latte was room temp at most but flavors were there, and the carrot cake itself was really good but the frosting was too sweet. Biscuit was dry. Jam was watery. Bacon and Eggs were just okay. Quesadilla was good but nothing great. And then we get to the danish pastry… as someone who bakes and has a family of chefs, I know when dough is underbaked. Cutting into this danish, I knew right away it still raw dough in the middle. When we brought to the girl’s attention at the counter, she seriously tried to gaslight us and tell us that “oh that’s the way it is because that’s how it bakes with the custard.” BS. We didn’t even eat the rest of it. Such a waste of our money. Nothing enticing about this place to go back so I can’t say I recommend it. Parking - it’s all street parking. Some residential. Some metered."
"One of the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had! Absolutely loved the vibe of this place. Plenty of outdoor seating, so bring Fido. Enjoyed their cold brew coffee, and looking forward to trying their other non-coffee items. Pastries were divine. We ordered the Pear Caramel and Strawberry Danishes. Flaky, and delicious. But man oh man… that burrito. I’m going to be thinking about it for a while!! Friendly staff, clean place… really enjoyed my experience at Doubting Thomas!"
"Just had my first meal here. It was delish!! However more on the pricey side, would like a nicer atmosphere to match the price. Regardless, I loved my dish. I had the pork belly bowl & strawberry matcha. You can tell thought goes into their food. Will be back."
"One of the best cafe/restaurants/bakeries in HiFi. Their passion fruit pie is a must try. The macadamia nut crust has the perfect crunchy buttery bite to..."
