"I hyped this place up to my friend and we came all the way to Atwater specifically to come here. We thought we were on time for opening, but made the honest mistake of coming in literally 2 minutes early. The doors were unlocked so we thought it meant the shop was open. Whoever was opening was incredibly rude and angry at us for coming in. We apologized politely as we didn’t realize we made the mistake, but she was just so unnecessarily mean. She was trying to be passive aggressive, but it came out just full on aggressive, storming up to us and borderline yelling that we should’ve waited, and said “but now that it’s opening it doesn’t even matter that you’re here.” We immediately walked out feeling so confused and hurt and went elsewhere. Why would we spend our money here after this interaction? We would’ve understood needing to wait outside a bit longer if they asked us politely, but man this girl was just plain mean. To this WHITE employee with long brown hair and bangs, I don’t know what you’re going through but I hope you find your peace. Kava is a drink from the Pacific Islands meant to be shared among community and provide comfort & ease, and you did not represent what Kava Kulture supposedly values. I do apologize for coming in early as I didn’t check the time, but there was no need for your crude behavior. As a Filipino American who stands with my Pacific brothers and sisters, I cannot recommend this place any longer. I won’t be coming again. Thank you."

"I absolutely love this place so much that I drive across town to come and vibe here multiple days a week! (45min-1hr) The community is great and everyone is so friendly. I come here and relax after work or to work on my laptop. They let you bring food in so I get to experience all these great local food spots around. "I order the 4oz kava mocktail with strawberry and honey added which comes to $17 plus whatever you want to tip. It is a bar atmosphere with booths to sit and do your work during the day. They have an open mic at 7pm on the last Thursday of every month (it's fun). The mocktail calms my nervous system and I like to order it and take it to Silverlake Resivour to lay in the grass and read. :)"
