What People Are Saying
from Google"The matcha is a little bit bitter for me, but it definitely is great matcha. The vibe of the store is wonderful. People are very nice and the environment is so cute!!"
"I tried this ice cream just out of curiosity — I couldn’t believe ice cream could be this expensive! It was good, but definitely a one-time experience. I went about an hour before closing, and there weren’t many people, so the café had a calm and cozy atmosphere."
"A very well curated space but to me, the atmosphere and pricing of the matcha and products just feels pretentious. Maru matcha is 1000000% better - mine felt watered down even after they added their 15g of sugar which is wild. I couldn’t even taste the matcha even though we got the richest one available for a whopping $9 lol"
"This is a special place for people who appreciate Japanese tea. Nowhere else can I walk in and have a few steeps of sencha or gyokuro (from different regions of Japan) served in beautiful ceramic pieces. We had this beautiful gyokuro kirari 31 that my daughter previously only had in Fukuoka. Nowhere else can I have different types of matcha from Yame served usucha as it should be. Finally there's a place for people like me who don't like matcha drowned in milk and sugar or cream topped or sitting in a syrup for easy preparation for lattes which is what a lot of cafés do. I enjoy kettl's sparkling matcha and matcha cortado. I appreciate the knowledgeable staff, a few I know study chado. I also love the beautiful tools I purchased from this store and added to my daily rituals. Don't sleep on their matcha and houjicha chocolates. They're so good, my friends who live in Japan request them for omiyage. I recommend the soba cha, it's easy to brew at any time of the day and lovely with some oat milk. The Koetsu and Jou Yanagi houjicha are staples in my home."
"Asking the barista, the first two variants on the matcha list were their most popular. I went for the one that's more nutty with cacao hint, which was more of my preference. They gave the option of going for either cortado if you fancied bolder matcha flavor in your drink, or the latte. I didn't get the negative reviews I read, as their matcha was actually great. Could definitely taste the bold umami flavor, and I even went for the latte, not cortado. They served pistachio and soy as dairy free alternatives, and great news, not charging extra for it. I had mine with pistachio milk and loved it! All drinks came unsweetened so you could adjust them to your sweetness preference."
