"This coffee shop Recently opened. The set up and the place is super relaxing and has an earthy vibe ,The workers are very welcoming and very attentive Jaydens energy is amazing makes you feel good to want to come back again . The coffee i got is their signature Malaya the flavor is amazing and not too sweet just perfect and smooth it’s not strong if you like stronger coffees I recommend you add and extra shot . The pastry’s are so moist and delicious a must try. I am a person that knows about coffee and working in the coffee industry and knowing so much about it I can say they took their time to Choose a good coffee and I can see they care about what they are providing to the people. I will really recommend to come and try it if you’re looking for a good coffee. I’m glad I came to try it out and I’m definitely going to be a returning customer."

"We stopped by Malaya Coffee and Ice Cream to show some support and finally try their Filipino-inspired drinks and pastries plus we were in the area eating sushi. The place has a really chill, welcoming vibe. You can tell it’s made with care and love for the culture. Even though it was busy the service was fast ,we tried one of their specialty coffees (with a twist of ube and pandan , of course) and grabbed some of their freshly baked breads. If you’re into supporting small, community-driven spots that blend tradition with something new, definitely swing by. This place deserves more love."

"Knowing Silver Lake, you would appreciate they have their dedicated parking spot, although I had to say most of the time it's fully occupied as they shared it with other establishments. If you skimmed through the menu, you could certainly tell they're bringing Filipino theme into anything they offered. Ensaymada, Ube, Pandan, you named it. The venue was surprisingly cozy. Simple and clean design, smart way in arranging multiple counter seats in different corners, making it accommodative to host quite many people. Nonetheless, coming with big group would still be tricky, unless you wouldn't mind to sit separately. If you're just coming to hang by yourself, I'd say it's wonderful spot to chill and read or even get work done. If you ordered their Ensaymada, they offered multiple flavors, which were basically the toppings. They did re-heat it pre-serving so I bet certainly nice. I didn't get it this time and just went for the drink instead. Seeing most people getting the matcha, I was persuaded to go for the same, but got mine with ube cause I definitely wouldn't wanna miss having ube from a place with Filipino touch. As disclaimer, the ube flavor was basically ube condensed milk, so it might indeed be on sweeter side. Trying my drink, I guessed next time I should go for just the matcha latte to be able to really tasted their matcha. This time the ube flavor kind of overpowered it. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty decent as I did love both condensed milk and ube, just that I wouldn't get to truly taste their matcha on its own (blame this one me LOL). Another one I had on my 'to-try' list would be their Malaya Signature, which sounded like their house version of Spanish Latte to me, with condensed milk, brown sugar, and cinnamon."

"I know no ways to mince it in words, but directly to say, you broke my heart. Without further ado let's begin. Malaya (est 07/2025) is a brand new tiny-Philippine inspired cafe in Silver Lake. It's located in a small corner plaza. They serve coffee, matcha, ice cream, and cheese bread ensaymada. Interior design and layout were adorable and spacious, respectively. It's modern and naturally well lit. Also, you will find some Filipino wall decor throughout the cafe. I was in search of a new cafe while driving on Sunset blvd; and much needed coffee refreshment b/c it's a sizzling afternoon. I was warmly greeted by a young Filipina. I perused their quaint modest menu. And decided to get a Cold Brew. Unfortunately, she stated don't have it at the moment and/or not sure when they gonna have it. (Strike no. 1) I was utterly befuddled!! I asked for a cold Latte x whole milk b/c they ran out or don't have half-and-half milk (Strike no. 2). Furthermore, I tried their Queso Ensymada and its quality was subpar (Strike no.3). At that point, she broke my HEART and ended up breaking up with her-coffee shop. :( Sadly, I only had two sips of my latte because it's too sweet for my palate. I left disappointed because I wanted to give my elite yelp blessing to this new coffee shop. The things I liked were service was spot on, free wifi, chill atmosphere and good music. Parking lot is limited, however, plenty of street metered parking. Overall, I had a lackluster experience. I don't see myself coming back for the above reasons. I hope this constructive review helps them improve running their new cafe business. #mahalkita"

"Ordered the mango matcha and the Malaya special. Both were very tasty, only complaint is that the mango syrup settled to the bottom so I had to really mix it well every time I sipped. I’ll try the ensaymadas next time! They look great in the window! Plenty of seating to do some work or meet with friends or colleagues"
