"Came to try this roaster since I have heard such good things. I’m not the one to write a bad review but when someone makes you feel uncomfortable something needs to be said so it doesn’t happen to others or it’s just better explained. We came in, said it was for here and requested our coffee in a mug and the server said he could not do that & they would have to be in to-go cups since they close in 35 min. I told him that wouldn’t be a problem because we would only take 5 minutes since we ordered a short cortado drink. Still said no, I can’t do that with no explanation leaving us just in an awkward position. Regardless, I give it 3 stars because I always wish a small business well and at the end the coffee was great which is primarily why I went in the first place. I even bought a bag of beans to support them more. Just wish the service was a bit more warming with new clients."

"Came in for the first time today after hearing great things about this place. I ordered two iced coffees and a drip coffee. We all enjoyed our drinks. I recommend the iced mexican mocha with almond milk!"

"The atmosphere is so nice. It looks so beautiful here. Love the decor and setup of it all. My friend tried the Monster Hunter drink, and unfortunately, she was not a fan. She did enjoy her blueberry parfait muffin. I would definitely return again for the atmosphere and to try a drink."

"I love sensory lab downtown. But this location just can’t figure out staffing and ordering. Three times now I’ve been in, the drink queue is super long (with only one staff!) and they’ll drop everything to take new order walk ins instead of finishing drinks. 20 minutes for two basic coffees is insane."

"I wish I didn't have to write this. I've been a loyal customer since this location opened. I've spent many mornings and afternoons meeting friends, colleagues, and even playing board games. Unfortunately, my latest list convinced me that I can't keep supporting this business--not without major changes. For the last many months, I slowed my visits because there was almost always one employee working, and even with two, drink waits were often 25-30 minutes. When I once asked why, I was told, "That's the way the owner wants it." Not exactly confidence inspiring, but I still tried to support the business every now and again. Since Raley's opened a Starbucks inside, I brought my kids in for a treat and to support the local business. The barista acknowledge me with the need to finish the two orders. The bar area looked more disheveled than I remembered: a drink abandoned at the register, supplies scattered, and enough dust/grime along the floor and bar to qualify as sedimentary layers. Still onward we adventured. Then one kid needed the restroom. The other kid escorted to the restroom inside the supply closet, and they came back 30 seconds later looking rattled. When I checked it myself, I understood why: the bathroom was grimy, not at all the clean restroom I remembered. But, you know, we've all seen a dirty restroom, and much much worse, so we pushed ahead. Until we tried to wash our hands. The wall soap dispenser, empty. The backup bottle of soap on the sink, also empty. So, no handwashing. And for any parent who knows that kids touch everrrrrrrrthing, it's important to wash hands A LOT. I let the barista know. He said "okay" and returned to his conversation with a vendor who wandered in carrying mop heads (for a fleeting moment, I though, ah yes, our hero, here to get to shiny town . . . nope, he was just dropping off mop heads). Our drinks came up, but when I said we still needed soap to wash our hands, the barista opened a cabinet whose unattached door he had to set aside like a careful artifact. No soap. I asked how he washed his hands, and he pointed to the wall dispenser above the sink. Also no soap. So, I asked, "what do you wash your hands with?" His answer, "There's no soap." And, in that moment I realized the only person preparing drinks, and one-in-the-same person who just made ours, could not wash his hands. I requested a refund, and he provided, and I asked for someone to talk to about the soap, and he gave me the number of "Barry". When I called, she acknowledged the missing soap and said she would talk to him, but didn't seem to grasp the seriousness of an employee working with no soap. And while I have certainly seen worse bathrooms and coffee shops where things are much more scattered and lived in, I think (besides hygiene) I am more disappointed with the neglect. This used to be a clean shop, with lots of plants, and customers. Until there's a real turnaround in cleanliness and employee training and staffing, I can't recommend this place. I do hope things change for the better, and if they do, I will be delighted to change this review."
