What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"When I'm out of town, I always prefer to support small local businesses like Humanity. I stay in Newport alot and this is my go to coffee place now. There's only been one employee the few times I've been there and it was very busy, so I don't advise coming here if you're in a hurry. Even though the employee was slammed, she still had a great attitude and made delicious drinks. I love the seasonal flavors. I had an iced blueberry lavender matcha latte and an iced salty maple latte, both delicious. The matcha had an amazing blueberry puree in it, so good. The shop has aesthetically pleasing decor and a clean bathroom, which can be hard to find in beach towns! As with any coffee shop, the prices are not cheap and I would love a larger cup option. I didn't try the food, but it looked tasty."
"Humanity Coffee is hands down my favorite coffee spot in Newport! Isabella always has the best recommendations. Today she suggested the Cookie Butter Matcha and WOW, it did not disappoint! The drinks are amazing, the vibe is great, and it’s the perfect place to grab a coffee and take a walk by the beach. Highly recommend"
"I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and had a fantastic experience! The wonderful staff welcomed me warmly and made my first visit truly special. What I loved most is how clean this place is! Plus, their menu is simple. I tried the iced coffee with sea salt foam, which I highly recommend, it's served with just the right amount of ice in a sturdy paper cup. I also enjoyed a delicious mochi pastry and a slice of blueberry coffee cake. They even have a side fridge stocked with beverages like apple juice and orange juice. Parking is available beside the building, and there's cozy indoor seating. Be sure to check it out!"
"Do not adjust your screen. The food really IS this small for the price. It's mostly good tasting food, however, I'm on a low carb diet for medical reasons and chose this place because of the cute, somewhat snarky descriptions and they advertised they had frittatas. They DON'T have frittatas! Frittatas are just open-faced omettles. They have egg sandwiches that they call frittatas and there is no indication whatsoever that they are sandwiches anywhere on the menu. The egg filling was good, but the biscuit bread thing is hard and dense and difficult to bite or chew. (Good thing I'm not supposed to eat it anyway). Coffee is also good. Their sugar-free vanilla syrup is really delicious, but they don't have HWC, only half n half and it's really expensive for it's tiny size- about $9.50 for the maybe 8 Oz drink, and $8.50 for the bite sized sandwich. Baristas aren't rude, but not particularly helpful. It was a little like ordering from a kiosk, but they're people. I'm visiting NB on vacay and so walked a 1/2 mile to get it. I wasn't even offered a better bag to get home. But because it was raining, the water destroyed the sandwich bag which made one side of the hard biscuit thing at least a little chewier, though still not pleasant or soft enough to eat with the egg filling, which is sad because most of the sandwich IS this hard biscuit thing."
"A truly feel-good café! Humanity Coffee delivers delicious organic, fair-trade coffee with house-made syrups and a sincere focus on sustainability (compostable cups, reusable-friendly). The staff is welcoming, the space is clean and cozy, and the menu is simple but excellent (try the Iced Coffee with Sea Salt Foam!). Best of all for Newport, there is super easy parking right next door. A must-visit for great coffee and a great mission!"
