What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Decent restaurant with average tasting food. Nothing much different than a standard Mexican restaurant, just a little added fluff to make it seem more unique. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the food was served quickly. Pricing is above average for what it was as you could go to a local mom and pop and get just as good or better tasting food. Would I return? No. But it is a convenient and decent spot on this street."
"I had the best experience with Cafe Zocalo! I contacted them as I needed to organize lunch for a company event. Juan was very helpful and walked me thru options and we were able to come up with an incredible menu. On the day of the event Mariana went above and beyond! The food was fresh and delicious that not a single sandwich was left! Ordering for a big group is hard and let me just say everyone loved the food! Her presentation was beautiful and I will absolutely be ordering from them in the future! Thank you both for your dedication and hard-work!"
"I tried this place for the first time today, and it did not disappoint. We walked in, and there was nobody there. Usually, that's not a good sign, but it seems we just beat the rush because within minutes, people started walking in. I ordered the chilaquiles with papas because I heard they were good. When they came out, I could immediately smell the red sauce. The chilaquiles were crispy and spicy, and were perfect with my over easy eggs. The red sauce is spicy and delicious. The potatoes were cooked perfectly. My wife ordered a more traditional breakfast, just eggs and bacon, but said it was good. As always, I judge mexican restaurants by their chips and salsa. They have the right chips, thick crunchy home made style. I ordered a side of beans to go with the chips. Unfortunately, we had just had coffee, so we didn't get to try coffee or michelada, but I saw they had the beer on tap. We'll definitely be back ready to try the coffee. I also previously tried their pastries, the concha and chocolate croissants are a must. The environment was nice, very casual. It looks like a good place to have a business meeting over lunch. I highly recommend this place. The prices are very reasonable."
"Amazing pastries / coffee… Even more amazing staff. They close at 3 pm and were patient while my cousin and I chatted away until 3:30 p and realized they were being patient and did not rush us … That was so sweet of them! Will be back !"
"We were pleasantly surprised with this cozy cafe. My mom and I were heading home after her check up and we got hungry. We were in Old Town so I looked up for something in the $10s-20s range and for healthy, fresh food. We got a spinach panini, a cappuccino, a single mimosa and tortilla chips with salsa. The chips were hand made and the salsa was delicious, very lemony and tangy. The panini came was fresh and filling. The cafe is very colorful and the service was very personable, we sat inside but it’s right on Glassell with public parking in the back, they’ve got tables on the curb, great for people watching and enjoy your meal."
"We re in old Orange to relax and shop a bit. just dropped in for a coffee and breakfast first. good idea !"
