from Google"I went here out of curiosity due to my love for their Downtown San Rafael 4th&A joint. Of course, expectations would be high. By comparison, there are menu items missing such as their uniquely great Avocado Toast. The place is quiet and mellow as I like it, but the place is compact which trims away comfort. I felt sorry for the 2 nice baristas (relaxed and smiley) having to handle a strange bull____er bull____ with them for the process of his order; something I have never seen in either of the 2 San Rafael locations. Although the outing counts considerably as a disappointment, I still had a differently joyfully fun bike-train day with a stop by “a” Pink Owl. In conclusion from my routine San Rafael super-fun bike trip just with a train round trip added, it was like going into Pink Owl in a parallel universe except where Pink Owl is just plain decent, as opposed to calmly celebrative and quietly joyful."
"I really wanted to love this place. The two girls working seemed sweet and friendly. That’s the best I can say of this place. I ordered a latte with light syrup (specifying less than half of the normal amount, since it was my first time), and the whole thing was thick and tasted like burnt peppermint syrup. The pastries looked good so I tried one, but immediately threw it away at home, along with the latte. An unfortunate waste of $15. I love supporting local businesses, but won’t be back here."
"Pink Owl Coffee is such a great spot. Their chai is so good, and I really appreciate that they offer turkey croissants instead of just ham and cheese. As someone who can’t eat pork, it’s so nice to have a thoughtful option like that. Always a solid place to stop for coffee and a bite."
"This is my local coffee shop. It’s in a tough location to turn a profit, and their coffee is very good. I like that a portion of the money spent there goes towards cancer__?__, but it would feel a lot better if they at least had a sign along the lines of “$X.00 donated to [cancer research] last year” or something similar…otherwise it seems like a gimmick. As someone who’s been drastically affected by cancer, let us know what this money is being used for…especially considering the exorbitant prices you charge. One other thing worth mentioning…Understanding that food costs are high, and that wasted food is profits lost, your pastries are a complete joke. Shame on me for giving it a 4th try this morning, but it’s consistently a let down. Bad grocery store level pastries for double the price that I could get at Whole Foods next door. I really hope you guys can make it work there, but you need to make some changes to keep the doors open. Good luck"
"Live nearby here and used to love it but the prices are so high! I hadn’t gone out for some time and figured $8 was normal for a latte, until I went to an equally good coffee shop a bit further away and was charged $5 for the exact same thing."
