"We visit Matcha Cafe Maiko pretty often because it’s my wife’s favorite ice cream spot. She’s not really an “ice cream person,” but the matcha soft serve here is one of the few desserts she genuinely loves—and I completely understand why. We’ve tried matcha ice cream at other places, but Maiko’s version feels special. You can tell they use a generous amount of matcha—the aroma is strong and fragrant in the best way. At the same time, it’s incredibly well balanced: not overly sweet, not bland, and it doesn’t have that harsh bitterness some matcha desserts can have. It’s smooth, rich, and refined, with the matcha flavor shining through from start to finish. Honestly, as an ice cream dessert—and especially as an Asian-style matcha soft serve—this might be one of the best versions out there. If you stop by, don’t leave without trying the matcha ice cream. And from what I know, they have 20+ locations across the U.S., so chances are there’s one not too far from you—definitely worth visiting your nearest shop."
