"I get the hype now. Prob one of the best matcha spots in Sac! Definitely come early bc we went at 12pm on a Saturday and prob waited around 40 mins. Was it worth it, yes LOL. We ordered the twice matcha and twice hojicha. Can't comment on the hojicha, but the matcha was so light, so creamy, so smooth. There's a beautiful balance when sipping it vs using a straw, bc you get a taste of the sweet and creamy matcha cream and a sip of the matcha latte. I was actually quite surprised by how spacious it was. It's pretty big inside, but bc it's such a popular spot, most spots are taken. There were a lot of people studying and working, but personally I think the atmosphere is a bit be too loud to work. The staff were so friendly and fairly quick with our drinks. I also ordered a Matcha Tea (matcha + water) for a friend, and after the staff made it, they actually called me back bc they noticed it was a lil chunky and wasn't smooth enough for their liking. I was so impressed that they actually quality check their drinks despite it being so busy for them. Definitely recommend checking offbeat if you're in sac; there is a parking lot outside but it gets filled quickly, so come early if you don't wanna wait! :)"

"Finally got to come and try this place after seeing so much hype about it online. This spot is easy to miss because it’s tucked in the corner of a small strip of shops off Broadway. Parking can get a bit tricky because of this too. I came on a Friday morning and it was pretty busy. All the seating inside which is kinda limited was filled and I waited maybe 10 minutes to get to the front. The menu is very simple just like the interior. The cafe has a minimalist and slightly industrial design but it is very light - both in color and the amount of light. Theres really tall ceilings which help it feel more spacious. There were people studying/working, hanging out talking, and others filming the infamous matcha being made. This isn’t a cozy cute spot if that’s what you’re looking for. I ordered the twice matcha which everyone seemed to be getting and a cortado. The twice matcha was super good because of the matcha cream top. The cream top is velvety and rich, it is sweet but not sugary. This cream top is so so good and when it mixes with the matcha latte it creates the perfectly not too sweet but sweet drink. I’m not sure if the matcha latte by itself will be as good to me but I’ll have to try it. The cortado was good as well, strong but had a nice flavor to it. Made me want to try their coffee/espresso based drinks. I’d definitely come again to try something new."

"Offbeat Coffee is such a cute (and very busy) spot! The interior is beautifully decorated—modern yet still charming and warm. I’d heard a lot about their Twice Matcha (a matcha latte topped with matcha cream), and it definitely lived up to the hype: rich, sweet, creamy, and delicious. Honestly, it was a little sweeter than I usually like my matcha, but still really good. At $7.50 it felt fairly priced for what it is, though probably not something I’d grab all the time. Service was quick and kind, but the shop was packed—we couldn’t even sit inside, which was a bummer since we had planned to work there. Overall, though, a lovely spot. I’d love to come back when it’s less crowded to get the full experience :)"

"it’s funny this place is called offbeat coffee but literally everyone here was drinking matcha or hojicha. the match latte with the matcha cream top was very very good! strong matcha flavor, smooth, creamy, a healthy green color. the sweetness of the cream top was just perfect. the drink was kinda pricey and the parking was pretty poor so knocking off one star for those things."
