"Wow. This bakery makes some of the tastiest and flakiest croissants I have ever had. You can immediately tell they take their craft seriously. The layers are perfectly crisp buttery and light. I ordered the bibimbap croissant which was incredibly creative and full of flavor and the smores croissant which was rich indulgent and perfectly balanced. Both were unique memorable and honestly made my entire morning. The space itself is beautiful and welcoming with great outdoor seating that makes you want to slow down and enjoy your food. The vibe feels very San Diego relaxed sunny and thoughtfully designed. If you love high quality pastries and creative takes on croissants this place is a must visit. I am so glad this bakery is here in San Diego and I will definitely be back."

"One of San Diego’s renowned bakeries, we had to wait over 30 minutes to enter. Despite the wait, the service was friendly, and the staff engaged us well, offering us champagne while we waited. Unfortunately, most of the dishes we ordered ran out. We tried their famous butter croissant, all-in-one croissant, and chocolate croissant. The croissants were amazing fresh, fluffy, and delicious. My favorites were the chocolate and all-in-one croissants. We also tried the butter caramel knot, vanilla knot, cappuccino, mocha, coconut milk latte, and caffe latte. The croissants were incredible, but we were disappointed that the almond chocolate croissant, mini croissant, and Moroccan chocolate croissant were unavailable. The butter caramel knot was one of the best I’ve ever had. The coffee was also great fresh and refreshing. We also ordered their sourdough, which was fresh and fluffy. Overall, it was a great experience, except for the long wait times. It’s still expensive than a regular bakery and I hope they bring it down soon."

"Move to San Diego about 3 years ago and izola has been on the list ever since then, and finally went when we had some friends visiting. This place is definitely worth the hype! We got there around 9:30 a.m On a Sunday morning. And it was perfect because the line was quite short but it started getting longer about 45 minutes later. If you have to get only one thing here, for a Savory item I would say get the Bibimbap Croissant and for a sweet it would be the End Bits! Bibimbap croissant was 12/10 It had the actual beef filling on the inside and even some sauce and they gave extra sauce on the outside which went so well with everything in there. Really good and creative croissant. Muffaletta was 7/10. It had the meat filling inside but it was not distributed too well and overall a little bit salty and not as wow as the Bibimbap. Moroccan black, olive and chocolate 9/10 I was a little hesitant about the olive here because I'm not a fan of olives, but you don't really taste any of that. It's like a lovely crispy flaky croissant with rich chocolate on the inside. The chocolate is warm and melty so definitely recommend having while you're still there! End Bits - 12/10 This is basically pieces of their extra croissant dough that they they just layer on a glass bowl along with some cinnamon, sugar and raisins pop Think you're having a warm cinnamon raisin bread that's flaky and crispy like a croissant instead. Perfect amount of sweetness and just magical Took one of the their chili crisp aka Lao Gan Ma and Gruyere sourdough to go and nothing was quite loaded! Quite an expensive sourdough though because it was $22 for that loaf. Honestly it was delicious but I don't think it's something I would get too many times because it's quite expensive."

"Absolutely worth the hype. The best croissants I have ever had, even better than in Paris. We got the veggie bibimbap, poached wine pear, and brown butter caramel knot. Even though our order was to go, everything was warm and crispy when we sat down to eat. There was a line outside by the time I arrived around 11 AM, but it moved quickly and the cashiers knew which items would be restocked versus which ones were out for the day. Strongly recommend pre-ordering, even on a weekday"

"It’s rare that a bakery earns my full 100% approval rating, but these guys absolutely did. I heard about them from a YouTube reviewer and had to check it out. I’ll admit—I was skeptical because of the location. But I was pleasantly surprised by the neighborhood, the easy parking, and the beautiful park right next door. The baked goods and sandwiches were exceptionally well made and beautifully presented. The croissants had that perfect combination you almost never find: crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Every item looked like a piece of art, and the staff could clearly explain the value and details behind each menu item. That alone is surprising, refreshing, and rare in San Diego. We tried different coffees during both of our visits, and while they’re machine-made, that’s not a negative. They’ve clearly invested in top-tier equipment, and it shows—the latte, cappuccino, and Americano were spot-on in flavor, temperature, and balance. I ended up chatting with the GM for quite a while, and I highly recommend taking the time to get to know the staff. And definitely tip them well—they’ve earned it."
