"lovely place!! don't miss it when you're walking by. stopped by in the morning and ordered a pandan latte that was absolutely delicious. I raced off too quickly and left my keys behind, and the barista very kindly kept them safe until the afternoon. I was relieved - and hungry - so I ordered a ham & cheese croissant - it was fantastic! So flaky and warm. 10/10 for the food and drink and 11/10 to the incredibly kind barista - thank you sir!"

"With just a Soft Opening they don’t have the full restaurant offerings yet. But what they do have is awesome coffee, pastries and other yummy cafe items! I love the open downtown Plaza ambience w/ the Trolley that passes by every so often and the Santa Fe Train Depot just a block away. Urban chill has now mingled w/ the dank vibe of Public Square. Sweet! (The ever busy and popular mother ship Public Square is in the heart of La Mesa Village.) Sitting at the Cafe tables was so relaxing as the seats are super comfy and cozy. Made me want to stay longer. The Plaza is cuddled in the middle of San Diego’s iconic buildings. But doesn’t feel claustrophobic. And there is a parking garage conveniently located right through the lobby doors of the main building. Just steps away from the Cafe. It’s a bit pricey. but worth it for me. I know there is much more to come with Public Square Cafe so I’ll be back to check it out. It’s a must stop whenever I’m in the area!"

"Bit of a sleeper hit, because you have to be in the plaza to clock it. But the baristas are friendly and knowledge. Coffee is also well made — everything in house, and they know what they’re doing. Vegan pastries look good, and prices are reasonable. Might have gotten themselves a new regular!"

"This is a great hidden gem! I walked past this place for months before realizing it was a coffee shop. Not only does the coffee taste good, but the staff will go out of their way to make you a fantastic drink. I’ve watched numerous times people ask the main gal to make a drink and she’s game to try! I always come back and the staff remembers me and picks up conversation where we left off. The service is amazing and is worth it alone for this stop. Plus I love the little affirmation card they give with their coffee, it makes me feel good getting my day started. 10/10 recommend!"
