What People Are Saying

"I wanted to love this place. The menu and existing reviews hooked me, but the experience fell flat. First, the business hours on google and on their door are incorrect. I’m not sure when they’re actually open, but I’ve stopped by 3 different times, including a Friday night, to shuttered doors. Finally this weekend we saw they were open and stopped for brunch. The vegetarian rye pancake was great! The flavors were unique and tasty! The other breakfast plate was average. The coffees were watery and bad. We couldn’t order the plates that we wanted because they seemed to be out of a lot of ingredients. I really wanted to try the zang, which appears all over the menu, but they did not have any. I was disappointed with the execution of what seems like a great idea."

"It’s the only Tatar restaurant in the entire United States, offering truly delicious and authentic Tatar food. Every dish — from chak-chak to echpochmak — is made with love and care, just like at home. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and welcoming — this is a place where you can truly feel at home. Huge thanks to the owners and chefs for preserving Tatar culture and sharing it with America!"

"This place is such a gem! Real food, no seed oils, lovely family owned spot, incredibly delicious and fresh food. I had the borscht and added pelmeni, then tried their peremyach which is kind of like a fried dumpling with beef inside. They make their own hot sauce which was unreal, the owner is a husband and wife from Mexico City and Tartastan so he made something that resembles a salsa with a lovely bite. I ended with a cup of sea buckthorn tea which I hadn’t heard of but they apparently import it, they walk you through everything which I really appreciated. Don’t think twice! Highly recommend coming"

"Nice ambience, space feels very open and cozy. I’ve never had Tatar cuisine before but everything we ate was absolutely delicious - very flavorful, filling and comforting. Staff was friendly and helped us choose what to order! Would recommend"

"Best food we ate in SF! And the best service! We had the borscht, pelmeni, sea buckthorn tea and this apple cheese pie that I can't remember the name of. Everything was delicious! The decor is simple and warm. We'll go back again before we leave."
