This was our first coffee stop in SF during this trip and we are so happy to land in such great spot to get coffee and start our café and cocktail bar quest. "Love this place . It is popup store inside a wine bar. It is coffee shop in the morning and wine bar in the evening. They just opened about 4 months. I am not sure if this is their permanent place. We were looking for coffee shop near North Beach and found it. The interior is very nice with small section where they take order and prepare the coffee. There are some pastries to choose from and they also have something from kitchen. The owner is very friendly and based on our conversation, he has been in coffee world for quite sometimes. We order matcha, cortado and latte. They have milk options if you are lactose intolerance. We also order Confit Avocado. The order was ready quickly which surprise me. The coffee and matcha were tasty. The highlight is the Confit Avocado. It is so yummy and different than regular avocado toast which you get from many coffee shop. They infuse the avocado with oil. I never had this before. it is at next level. The price is reasonable and good this is it is pet friendly place."

"We ordered an iced latte with Ispahan syrup, an iced matcha latte, two donuts (raspberry and custard), and a Thai butter cake. The Ispahan syrup adds a unique flavor to the latte, which I really enjoyed. The donuts taste homemade and are not overly sweet—very different from typical American donuts, and I love that. The texture of the Thai butter cake reminds me a bit of cornbread: light yet satisfying. On top of that, the café is dog-friendly, which makes it an even more enjoyable place to visit."

"An absolute delight, Better Half Coffee is deceptively named (it's much, more more than coffee) and the signage can be confusing (it shares space with the prominently signaged Bar Bibi, and I'm glad that we weren't being guided by our phones because Google would have told us the bar part was closed). Drawn in by the snug neighborhood vibes, we enjoyed an impromptu brunch that was probably the best of our lives. Ordering three items with our coffee was about right for two average people. Avocado confit (not toast, the menu reads!) was a bread-dipper's dream; hen-of-the-woods elevated a perfectly poached egg; and the granola parfait was just, well, parfait -- hard to describe how well fuyus + satsumas played off the yogurt and cocoa nibs. Every nibble hit the mark. What we loved especially was the care that the chef-owner showed in the work, as well as his mellow, effortless artistry that feels so much like S.F. at its best."
