from Google & Yelp"Cafe Velora is a family-owned business with delicious freshly-made baklava. I loved how the filo pastry layers were still crispy and flaky. We tried this time: + Pistachio with lemon simple syrup: this one was my favorite! Fragrant, balanced level of sweetness, delicious. I would definitely get this one to bring back home to my parents. + Vanilla cream: this one had a sweet thick cream (cream cheese based, no nuts I think) inside the layers of filo pastry. + Lemon ginger honey jam with mixed nuts: a bit on the sweeter side due to the jam, but not overwhelmingly sweet. + Orange zest & mixed nuts The mom who helped us was really kind as well. Excited to go back and try more kinds of their baklava!"
"Super excited that this cafe opened in our area. Lovely small business owned by a mom and son duo who are incredibly friendly and passionate about their shop. We tried a couple of lattes. If you like fruit lattes, the cherry iced is a MUST TRY. All of their baklavas were amazing. Highly recommend trying this spot."
"We walked by randomly and saw these baklavas calling out to me from the window. When we walked in, there this cute little cafe selling organic coffee, pastries and the best baklava you can ever find in the city. NOT TOO SWEET (biggest compliment you can get from an Asian), flakiest phyllo pastry (that is not at all hard + melts in your mouth) and very aromatic roasted pistachios. There is Pistachios ($4) and there is Bistachios (BIG Pistachios - $5). They have other flavors too that I’m looking forward to try going forward."
"A really cute Shop with very Friendly Staff. We got a iced chai latte and a baklava. The chai latte was freshly made and tasted great. The baklava was freshly made. They serve a classic baklava with honey and a vegan version too. It was nice and crisp and not too Sweet. It was definitely better than the classic shawarma place treat, which are often just overloaded with sugar and soggy. If you are around you should definitely give them a shot and try them out. 10/10 would recommend."
"I love this cafe. The baklava is FANTASTIC. Sweet, but not too sweet, with many innovative flavor combinations that simply work. The owners are incredibly kind and it is clear they love their store and their customers. Two wishes in the future: First, I hope they offer a small size of their drinks (good coffee, but sometimes I just want a smaller portion so it doesn't go to waste!). Second, I wish the stickers on their boxes had their shop name! I'm bringing an assortment of baklava to Thanksgiving dinner, and I want everyone to easily see where they are from. I think this stickers could also be relatively cheap, good marketing, because I don't think I'm alone in bringing their baklava to events!"
"On my most recent visit to San Francisco, I decided I'd try to live like a local for a day. I googled "balaclava" so I could take part in the traditional..."
