What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Amazing store for Russian Food. We ordered the borscht, pelmeni, olivye, and medovik. It did take a bit for our main dishes to come out but its a family run restaurant so i was a-ok waiting. We had a tub of olivye and slice of medovik to snack on anyways so all good. The olivye was quite salty but i do tend to like my food quite salty so it was very tasty to me. The medovik or honey cake was the highlight of the meal, not too sweet, super soft and filled with pieces of what seem to be walnuts and sour cream frosting that had a great tang (what i think is often missing from american cream cheese frosting) the borscht was earthy and comforting and also vegetarian just fyi. the pelmeni tasted nicely rich from the meat and even better when dunked into the sour cream"
"Me and my partner went to this bakery on the 30th of December at around 11 AM. It got really crowded in like 30 min or so. We got the mushroom and potato piroshi, sweeet cheese and beef blinchiki, strawberry cream turnover, hazelnut financier, eclairs and napoleon cake. The sweet dishes were definitely good. We also liked the Pirsoshki. For a group of Indians, blinchiki might not hit the spot very well (obviously because we wanted some spice/ onions and green chilies probably in the beef filling), but I would definitely recommend this place. San Francisco prices-so not super wallet friendly."
"A hidden gem in SF. Find this place and find a little slice of Heaven in the Richmond district. Great huge selection of baked goods and Russian specialities like Peroshki, and dumplings, pastries and cookies great coffee and tea. Nice seating area out on the sidewalk. I often stop here when visiting the city or doing an airport run. Fun place to take visitors to. Highly recommended!"
"I ordered borscht and the potato vareniki. Each dish was a generous portion, sufficient as a meal on its own— however, having walked around all day on an empty stomach, I managed both in one (long) sitting. The borscht was hearty and flavorful. The bread that it came with was a fine vessel to soak up the soup but not that tasty by itself. The potato vareniki was surprisingly bland, but I enjoyed them once I got my hands on a salt shaker. There were plenty of options for outdoor seating. Service was friendly."
"Stopped by Cinderella, a German bakery in Richmond, and it’s such a charming spot. The pastries and desserts were excellent and tasted authentic (Not that I could tell), with a good variety to choose from. The place itself has a cozy, welcoming feel and the staff were friendly. It does get busy, so expect a line, but the food and atmosphere make it worth the wait. A great place to try if you’re in the area and want something authentic and delicious."
"My daughter returned home from college and was hungry, so I offered boiling some frozen dumplings, but she said,"no." Next day, she wanted to go to..."
