"Food and drinks: mid Service: bad Aesthetics: cute Detail review below. Food: I’ve had their mahlab and mocha cake at The Mill before and they were dry and I rate them 3/5. Thinking that the main location would perhaps be better, tried their poppy seed walnut babka, chickpea boureka, tahini chocolate cookie. The dry story continues with the rest of their pastries although the boureka was decent. Do not think they are on par with the top SF bakeies like the other reviews suggest. My cappucino was ok however my friends’ black coffees were room temperature and weak. I wouldn’t go again especially after the service that we’ve received. Service: I noticed that the babka was taken out of the display onto a plate and was being placed on the counter. So, as soon as our server placed the plate on the counter, I asked if it could be warmed up. I was then told, that due to cross contamination they can’t take it and warm it up. The person literally had just placed it, there wasn’t enough time for me to even touch the plate and neither was I hovering over the food. Also, there was a large tray on donuts with no lid on, in front of the counter, open to passersby’s germs to fall all over. Isn’t that cross contamination? This wasn’t logical at all. The condescending attitude was not appreciated. Vibe: Very cute cafe/ bakery, ceramics were nicely done and apparently done by a local artist based out of Mexico."

"The chocolate babka was transcendent! I wasn't quite as enthusiastic about the chickpea tarragon bourekas. Parking is a nightmare, as you probably already expect in San Francisco. But the shop is worth it - so cute and welcoming. The staff behind the counter were lovely."

"I went in here to get one thing, but asked the counter person what her favorite was and she said the lemon rosemary tart with no hesitation. So, I ditched plan A and went with the lemon rosemary tart. I’m glad I did. It was so silky and the rosemary was not overpowering which tends to happen more often than I’d like. Good service, great tart, quaint and cozy inside. (The inside didn’t change much from the previous shop, 20th Century Cafe.)"

"A charming bakery with a stunning selection of cakes, sweets, and savory items. The interior is uniquely designed and incredibly cute, with beautiful ceramics used for serving—every plate and cup feels thoughtfully chosen and adds to the experience. We opted for the mushroom boureka as a savory treat. The pastry was perfectly flaky and light, and the filling was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. That said, I couldn’t take my eyes off the rest of the baked goods and cakes—they all looked irresistible. We also had an espresso and a mint tea, which was served with fresh mint leaves—both refreshing and comforting. A lovely touch: drinks come with a piece of halva, offering the perfect bite of sweetness to enjoy alongside your beverage. If you're visiting San Francisco, this bakery is definitely worth a stop. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger, and everything from the food to the ambiance is crafted with care. Highly recommended!"

"I ordered an array of desserts. Each one better than the last. Highly recommend the rosemary lemon curd tart, pistachio butter cookie, and mahlab. We had ours to go but while there the staff was very friendly."
