What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"the little cozy size & shape of this place, taken in consideration with how short the wait has always been to be seated any time i've been here, makes it feel like a hidden gem. to be more fair, i don't know how hidden it actually is. it's certainly a friendly and comfortable place, though, and you can tell how much love the community has for it, which would make it an enjoyable place to eat even if the food were only ok. fortunately, it's more than ok — both the sugary options like the french toast and the savory menu items like the eggs benedict are worth getting, to a point where i have a classic, timeless brunch crisis every time i'm there over which direction to go on that particular occasion. i think that's how you know it's good. on the benedict in particular, the eggs themselves are always poached exactly right, and the sauce falls just short of perfect. reaching a point where i would more confidently use that word is not realistically attainable, though, and i recognize that i have a personal preference for slightly more lemon than is probably considered normal. in a world plagued by lazy hollandaise so thin and mild you wonder exactly how many yolks were even involved and what else must be occupying their seat instead, the richness of this one ensures that the benedict is everything it needs to be. eating here is always a lovely way to start out a day, no matter where i am going afterward. the staff seem to find genuine joy in brightening everyone's day with a good meal, and the drawings by children that are hung up enhance the family atmosphere. i know the way i've written this is inappropriately pretentious for a place like this, and it's the only way i know how to be, but i'm complicated. so i will close by saying that one time i watched a child be held up to watch the orange-juicy-machine squish all the oranges, and i think i share that child's delight every time i watch the orange-juicy-machine myself. it's a good machine."
"This is my comfort place. I love breakfast food, and this is the where I go when I'm craving a good old fashioned corned-beef hash and potatoes. It's so good. Highly recommend Orlando's hot sauces. So much flavor and just enough kick. By FAR the best part of eating at NTC is getting a warm greeting from Stan or Orlando, it's really like coming home."
"our waitress was so nice! i got the eggs benedict and potatoes with cheddar cheese it was AMAZING! my husband got the taraval special with eggs, sausage and pancakes and the pancakes were so nice and fluffy, so delicious!! THE OJ AND LEMONADE IS ¡FRESH! PLEASE TRY IT!"
"Delicious comfort food at a neighborhood cafe. I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon and hash browns and coffee. Generous refills on the coffee and a very yummy sandwich. My husband had the chilaquiles and really enjoyed them. Plentiful hot sauce choices. The cafe is family owned and a great spot for lunch or brunch."
