"Ocean Plant (aka Andytown Coffee Roasters) is one of the most refreshing spots in the Outer Sunset. The ambiance alone makes it worth a visit. It feels calm, open, and thoughtfully designed with a laid-back surf motif that puts you at ease right away. One standout feature is their “tech detox” policy on weekends. From Friday through Sunday, they ask guests to unplug, and people actually follow it. I saw groups chatting, reading, and playing board games instead of staring at screens. There’s a cozy games corner with chess, cards, and backgammon, along with a nice selection of books and unique surf-themed items for sale. The space encourages you to slow down and enjoy being present. Its location is another big plus. Just steps from the beach, it offers great views of the ocean and the calming sound of waves in the background. Whether you’re catching up with a friend, taking a solo break, or winding down after a beach walk, Ocean Plant offers a peaceful, intentional space. It’s more than just a coffee shop. It’s a community spot that brings people together and reminds you what life feels like without constant digital distraction."

"Very disappointing experience. The barista’s behavior was unprofessional and overtly racist, which made me feel unwelcome and disrespected. Discriminatory conduct has no place in customer service. Management should address this immediately through proper training and accountability. I would not recommend this café."

"They do not allow you to use any ipad or kindle, even if it is for reading. Phones are okay, you can doomscroll all you want. But if you want to bring your kindle to read, they’ll ask you to put it away"

"Nice space, we walked in just before closing and the boy behind the counter working July 11, 2025 literally asked us to leave when we only wanted to look around as there were still plenty of customers still inside. He kept repeating that we should leave in a very stern way. It was very strange, even after we mentioned we only wanted to look at the place. It was not even 5pm yet which was their posted closing time. I realize customer service and professionalism is not a Hallmark of this generation so I owe it to a more gentle and polite generation to post this negative review. Apparently 1 Star rating is the minimum Google requirement which I reluctantly submit."
