"Long time Philz drinker here, once a standout for a “craft” coffee - nowadays it seems like the drinks are slapped together quickly and when ask for modifications the staff is irritated and defensive - there’s no more effort to make sure your are happy with drink even though it’s a solid $6-7 “craft made” drink. I don’t know if this is just lack of training or the culture at Philz is just more commercialized now like what’s happened to WholeFoods but - point is I’ve been very dissatisfied with service and quality these days."

"My first trip to SF was nearly 10 years ago for work. My first cup of coffee was at Philz. It was a pour-over iced coffee. And it was perfect. Over the years, I've been to SF a number of times - also for work. A few weeks ago, I found myself at this location. I could have sworn there was a Philz at the stadium. Maybe my memory fails me. I found this one a block away and ordered a pour-over iced coffee and walk along the piers in the morning. Not the first time here. Same great coffee just the same. The people here are great. Philz is an institution. Just go for it."
