What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"This was, unfortunately, the most disappointing experience I’ve had at a Philz. The service staff seemed disengaged and inattentive. I ordered an iced Coffee Rose, but it was served hot with ice added on top — leaving it lukewarm. When I asked about it, I was told, “That’s how Philz always serves it’s iced coffee rose,” which I know isn’t true as I’ve been ordering this drink for years. I also ordered a turkey sausage with egg and cheese (video attached), and the sandwich was overcooked — the cheese was completely burnt. I hope this location can improve its service and consistency to better reflect the brand’s standards."
"Philz Coffee in the Financial District is a nice place to stop into when you’re in the area and want something comforting and familiar. The space has a relaxed, welcoming feel, making it a good option for a quick break during a busy day. The coffee is made to order and consistently good, but I was also pleasantly surprised by the food options. They offer a solid selection of pastries and light bites that pair well with the coffee, making it an easy spot to grab something small to eat along with your drink. Philz Coffee delivers a quality experience with good coffee, approachable food options, and a comfortable atmosphere. While it’s not an everyday stop for me, it’s a reliable choice when you’re in the area and want something simple."
"Stopped by Philz Coffee on a Tuesday morning around 7:40 AM, and unfortunately, they were already sold out of all breakfast items—which was surprising for such an early hour. We ordered just coffee and tea, but the drinks took quite a while to be prepared. When we finally received them, they weren’t even hot, which was disappointing given the wait. Overall, it wasn’t the experience we were hoping for."
"I love Philz. But what’s turned me from going 5 days a week to every once in a while is that you can’t walk with their coffee without spilling it all over. This happens 50% of the time. For a $6-8 cup of coffee, can we please just have a better lid? I used to try to compromise by holding it with napkins, but they just took away napkins…"
"People here are lovely and helped me find my perfect drip coffee. I had never been to Philz' and did not know what to order but the friendly barister helped me figure it out. Unfortunately - not by any fault of Philz' I ended up not liking my drink which was a dark roast with oat milk. I guess it's just not for me. Regardless if my taste, I love the place and you should try it too"
