What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"There's a new coffee and pastry shop in San Francisco that offers a unique Korean fusion experience. The shop is impressively spacious for a coffee shop, boasting high ceilings and seating on both the ground and first floors. Despite its size, the place was bustling when we arrived, though we were fortunate enough to find a table immediately. We were seated comfortably on a sofa. The concept of the shop resembles that of a restaurant. Upon arrival, a staff member greets you, inquires about the number of guests, and then guides you to your table, even using a walkie-talkie for coordination. For ordering, you can conveniently scan a QR code at your table to place your order online. Our food selections included the Galbi Patty Melt, Sohn Breakfast, Popcorn Chicken, and a Cookie. For drinks, we enjoyed the Yuja Perilla Espresso Tonic, Signature Cream Top, a cortado, and a latte. The food and drinks were delightful. I particularly enjoyed the Galbi Patty. The Popcorn Chicken had an interesting twist with the inclusion of Korean rice cake."
"We waited about 20 minutes to be seated. We ordered the hojicha cream top and a banana oat milk matcha. The hojicha was very good, but the matcha was just okay—the banana flavor was quite strong, so the matcha taste wasn’t very noticeable. We also ordered the popcorn chicken, which was quite salty, but the staff kindly provided a sour sauce that helped balance it out. The kimchi fried rice just looked appetizing, though it ended up being a bit oily. Overall, the decor and atmosphere are very nice, making it a great place for a group of friends to chat and hang out."
"Tried Sohn SF and wow 🤍 Ordered their signature Oat Milk Banana Latte with espresso along with the Galbi Patty Melt and the Breakfast Sandwich, and both seriously delivered. The latte is smooth, cozy, and perfectly balanced — the banana flavor is subtle and natural, not fake or overly sweet, and it pairs beautifully with the espresso. The sandwich is a total showstopper: juicy, flavorful galbi patty, melty cheese, and crispy, buttery toast — rich, savory, and incredibly satisfying. This combo is elite breakfast/brunch energy. Sohn is definitely a must-try if you’re into creative coffee and bold, comforting flavors. Can’t wait to go back."
"I’m excited to see how Sohn will turn out in a few months. I visited the space today to catch up with a friend while I had a short trip to SF. My friend warned of the possible long lines and wait for dining in but Sohn offers a different line for takeout which is great if you’re in a hurry. I waited about 15-20minutes when there was ~10 people out the the door, and an employee came out multiple times to offer some seaweed chex mix while we were waiting. The staff are really friendly and seem well organized and communicative. The space almost feels like a full service restaurant with the level of service that is provided. I got the matcha latte with cream top and popcorn chicken that came with rice cakes. The matcha latte was reasonably priced at $7 and pretty good. It wasn’t too strong but you could still taste the matcha. The popcorn chicken was really crunchy but I felt it was kind of dry and had a strong chicken flavor. Maybe if it was fried differently to be juicier or was paired with a sauce it could be better. The rice cakes had a seaweed seasoning and were alright but not outstanding. The portions also felt small for the food (attached photos are before any consumption). However, you can tell the food presentation and taste are designed very intentionally but I felt like there’s still room for improvement. Overall, the space feels like a great place to hang out with friends and chill with a variety of cafe drinks and some entrees/sides. As I understand, they are relatively new and haven’t been open for long. I’m excited to see how Sohn will be like in a year and how they can build off their already impressive operations."
"The ambiance is very pleasant and modern, with ample space and bright lighting. Surprisingly, there was no line around 11 am. I ordered a galbi patty melt, popcorn chicken, and mayak egg rice to go. The popcorn chicken with rice cake was quite good. It was well-seasoned, and the seaweed powder added a delightful kick. However, the galbi melt was too greasy and lacked balance. At $16, I won’t be ordering it again. The mayak egg rice was simply a bowl of rice with Japanese-style onsen tamago and soy sauce. It was nothing special and, in my opinion, overpriced at $14."
"As a first timer, I didn't expect the long line to dine in. However, you can skip the line and order to go and there was no line! As we stepped inside, it..."
