What People Are Saying

from Google & Yelp

"Ordered ham cheese, croissant chocolate croissant, toast with butter and jam and a latte. Everything quite as expectedly good. The croissants are the flaky style, but will taste better after I go home and heat them up slightly. The bread is great. Not sure about the jam. They said it is strawberry jam, but it is too sweet for me and I forgot to ask if it is their store-made jam. Looks like it but maybe it is just too sweet for me. I love the thickness of their toast and hopefully next time I am in the area I can try their avo toast. Coffee happens to be in the style I like, no fuity note. For a 12-oz, not too milky either. "Super busy when we went and on the pricier side but you get what you pay and wait for here. I went here with some friends for brunch and everything everyone got was delicious. I got the omelette that came with a side salad and toasted sourdough. I liked having the variety of some protein, some greens, and some bread. There’s indoor and outdoor seating- all beautiful! The line was somewhat long when we got there but moved fairly quickly. I would come back and recommend to friends!"

"When in San Francisco so as the SF’s do and go to Tartine? We were told it was the best place for bread (sourdough) in the city. I would say it was good. We wanted to really test their bread, so we ordered just plain bread sliced and it came with butter for about $8. I was impressed with the portion size. I also couldn’t resist the ham and cheese croissant as I looked at the display box. It was delicious. 10/10 I would get the croissant again. We went for a pick me up afternoon snack and ate in the park. Perfect location with a enjoyable snack. I would for sure go back if I needed another snack while in the area."

"🥐☕️♥️I had a pain au jambon and a black coffee. The pastry was huge, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, so good! It went perfectly with the black coffee. There was even a cute little dog there, which totally made my day!"

"Honestly, this location just doesn’t deliver on freshness or customer service anymore. I live closer to the Tartine in the Mission, and the quality there never disappoints. Tartine isn’t cheap, so when I come here, it’s because I want to treat myself. Unfortunately, the slice of cake I bought wasn’t worth the price. It tasted like it had been previously frozen, and the freezer flavor was honestly awful. On top of that, the customer service was neither warm nor pleasant. If I’m spending around $11+ on a thin slice of cake, the least I expect is a simple “hello” and a fresh product. And then this dry piece of crumble that’s supposed to be Chocolate Tea Cake. Nope. $6.50+ for what? Yet again dry & previously frozen so took out all the moister. I’m sorry if this place is independently owned which is why the quality and atmosphere is so different compared to other locations but seriously, the high costs of items are just a slap in the face when cashing out & expecting something orgasmic or at the very least edible. Call me spoiled but this was supposed to be a treat to myself. My last dollars spent on this (crying myself in the corner while I watch the squirrels take it piece by piece) 😭 I took a few bites and ended up leaving the rest— the squirrels seemed to enjoy it more than I did. The pastry quality here has clearly declined. The service has never been great, but some days are worse than others. I’ve given this location too many chances to improve, and I won’t be coming back. It’s not worth spending my hard-earned money on terrible customer service. I know this place is capable of having better customer service & quality items but even now, they just don’t seem to care enough to do so. Anyways, that’s my two sense of dissatisfactory. Happy New Year."
