What People Are Saying
from Google"Just as adorable and aesthetic as I thought! Mary, the owner, is so genuine, laid-back and fun to talk to! She puts her heart into the business and it definitely shows in both the quality of the food and service! I recommend the BBQ chicken sandwich 😊 Great spot to sit outside (on cute swinging chairs) or inside for a quieter, more intimate-feel. If you’re in town, you must try this spot!!"
"Lavender latte: hot: it was 10/10. You can definitely taste the coffee and lavender. I’d highly recommend Caramel latte: 6/10 cold is better. Not as much coffee as you’d expect. Hot is on the sweeter side. If you like caramel, it’s for you! Avocado toast: I think they used less than half an avocado? It was a super thin layered avocado which I was disappointed since the price was a bit high for what I got. French toast: expect eggy toast. No cinnamon in it at all. No flavor. They will give you syrup though! Breakfast bowl: it was okay, and I think portion was good too. Interior: very cute! They have seating inside! They don’t have AC inside I think. It’s pretty warm. Parking: you can park on the street and their parking lot. We came on a Wednesday brunch. I’m assuming weekends are packed."
"It looks like a lovely little restaurant for the neighbors. The weather was cloudy, so I chose to sit inside. It is very cozy and sweet. I like the waffles. And my friend recommended avocado toast and salad. The toast was fine, but I think the avocado was too wet, so the toast got too moist. The salad tasted good but was average. But it was crowded when I left. So I think maybe I can come to try some coffee next time."
"This place is a very quaint place for a simple breakfast/lunch date. The food was pretty good. I ordered the big Dave's breakfast and it was a good portion. Seating varies because it's a small place. They have a small parking lot but it didnt get too crowded that there wasn't parking. Funny thing is when we were sitting outside enjoying brunch. My girlfriend noticed the different stages of relationships of the people near us. From just starting to date to us couple with couple friends to a pregnant couple and lastly a couple with a toddler. And inside sat an elderly couple before we ordered our food. So definitely a quiet dating spot for those who want to just enjoy food and have a conversation."
"At the beginning of San Marino, north San Gabriel is a little gem of a coffee shop. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, across the street from an elementary school is the Mary Lane Cafe. This unassuming coffee shop has everything you need to start your day. Cool jazz music, freshly made lattes, a warm breakfast sandwich and a relaxing outdoor space. My breakfast sandwich was cooked perfectly with bacon and cheese on sourdough. My cinnamon latte was made fresh and it makes a difference. About the same price as a sit down waitress breakfast, my sandwich was the right size. As a local, I’ll be back. 2nd visit had the eggs over spinach with sun dried tomatoes and feta. Need a large latte size. Excellent Latest item was the simple two eggs with potatoes and bacon. Although the simplest of breakfast standards, it can be effed up. My eggs were cooked as if they were for Benedict but that was fine (egg snob. Scrambled eggs must be fluffy!). Cooked perfectly over medium, crispy potatoes with green onion and just rite bacon. Another fabulous meal. Busy for moms day, otherwise show up early. I’ve sat outside but don’t miss the cool interior and cool music. Loving this place."
