"I visited a Vietnamese dessert and coffee shop in San Jose recently, and it was quite an interesting experience. To reach the shop, you have to take a few steps up a staircase; I'm not certain if there's a ramp available for those who need it. The interior decoration is very appealing, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The menu is straightforward and the ordering process is simple. However, the challenge was in choosing the right dessert, as we visited in the morning and weren't quite ready for a dessert tasting flight. We decided on the Coconut Cloud, Pandan Waffle, and Saigon Pearl. Both the Coconut Cloud and Saigon Pearl were delightful. The Pandan Waffle was also enjoyable, with a chewy texture that seemed to include tapioca. Overall, it was a good visit, though I found the prices to be a bit on the high side."

"Interesting treats, I liked how the regular Vietnamese desserts are showcased in a fancier elevated manner. Of course it's about $9 for an average drink, but folks are lined up regardless, since it's pretty good. I ordered my drinks with less sugar and no sugar, less ice, and all I could taste is the grass jelly, not too much flavor. The Crème Brûlée custard was decadent, however the lack of sugar on top, made for a poor shatter, and held back the crunch and texture seesaw of creamy and rich, with crunchy and caramelized. The Coconut Milk Cream had Pandan Dumplings with Taro stuffed inside, and I enjoyed this on every much on this cold winter evening. My Favorite was the Pandan Waffle w/ Creamy Coconut Dipping sauce, with small fresh coconut pieces inside. The chewy rice flour batter that took the texture game to a whole new level, and I enjoyed it very much"

"I got the pandan waffle ($7.95) and the NEW Tra Vinh Velvet warm specialty ($10.50). The pandan waffle was SUPER crispy on the outside, so much that I didn't think it would have a good pandan flavor. The inside is filled with actual coconut pieces which was a huge shock to me because the pandan waffles you can get at Vietnamese bakeries aren't filled with anything! The mochi-like texture of the batter was chewy and bouncy while the coconut added a nice slight crunch. The warm coconut sauce on the side was a PERFECT addition to the already not too sweet waffle. REALLY GOOD, but I do wish it had a stronger pandan flavor! The Tra Vinh Velvet is one of their warm specialties that has ube and pandan taro dumplings, ginger syrup, coconut flakes and coconut sauce you get on the side but you're supposed to combine it with everything else. This was reminiscent of taho or dau hu nuoc duong, because of the ginger syrup and coconut sauce together. It was served piping hot and was SO DELICIOUS AND COMFORTING! I wish I could say the same about the ube and pandan taro dumplings. They lacked flavor and were TOO plain. I understand that the ginger syrup and coconut sauce are sweet but the dumplings just tasted like bland dough balls! Add some sugar or something inside please! They were TOO plain, I was not a fan and would unfortunately not get it again. Overall, a pretty solid spot for Vietnamese desserts! I'll definitely be back to try their other warm specialties."

"Loved this place! Co Ba Dessert Tea & Coffee is such a cozy spot with delicious Vietnamese desserts and drinks. Everything we tried was well balanced and not overly sweet. The pandan waffle was crispy and flavorful, and the desserts were comforting and unique. Great ambiance to sit and relax, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to highly recommend if you’re in the area!"

"Actually pretty good. A bit too sweet, like American sweet instead of Asian sweet. Though they don't advertise it, you can adjust the sugar level of your drink. I asked for 50% for my Lychee Rose and it was still pretty sweet. You can taste the tea a bit and the lychee a lot but you can't taste the rose at all. The Da Nang Supreme is very comforting on these more cold days and if you like something creamy in a coconut way, I would go for it!"
