"For the price, it was very nice. Family run, very nice people. Room was clean and quiet with fridge and microwave. Wifi worked good. Beds were comfortable abd we slept well. Convenient location with a good Columbian restaurant downstairs that was open late (a little meaty for me but the elder I was traveling with loved it). The one drawback for us was the stairs. We had way too much baggage and getting it all to the room was crazy. I would say that this is an excellent stay for able bodied meat eating people who travel light lol."

"We stayed here for two nights. When we returned to our room on the second night around 5:00 pm, it was still dirty and had not been cleaned at all. We went to the front desk and were told that the cleaning staff was still at lunch and that it would take about two hours to clean the room. This was very frustrating, especially since we had left the room at 9:00 am, which gave them plenty of time to clean it. We had never experienced anything like this before. The staff did not apologize or offer a solution. We had to ask for a different room ourselves instead of them offering one. Overall, the lack of professionalism and poor service made our stay disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel"

"It used to be a place that I stayed all the time they used to have a very nice friendly staff Just recently within the last five months they’ve changed management. The manager is real snobby. This was a comfortable place for me to stay while I was in San Jose doing business, but it’s no longer. There’s no ice machine. There’s no coffee pot in the refrigerator and half of the rooms and no swimming pool. Most of all it used to be pretty private now stash in your business not a good place. I would not recommend."

"Well lets just say they are eager to get your booking. I was told at check in "NO PARTIES or LOUD NOISES WILL BE ACCEPTED", I took it anyway, it was the only room in town with a jacuzzi tub. My husband , while walking in the room barefoot was stuck with a sewing needle in the toe, at further inspection he found 8 more needles. no one was at the desk to complain to. The room itself was ok (just the basics), no clothes rack to hang clothes, the walls are very thin and you can hear everything. The jacuzzi had all of its knobs gone, lighting everywhere was very dim and the worst of all...... I used a towel to stop bleeding from a bloody nose (high blood pressure) and it had may 6 drops on it, THEY CHARGED ME $60.00 FOR A TOWEL. I strongly advise you to rethink booking a room at the ROSE GARDEN HOTEL, SAN JOSE, CA."

"This place is a joke by management. Please read reviews first. I wish I had. I recently stayed on the 15th Sept. The pool was still empty, the ice vending still not working. The room smelled horrible of mildew and rancid. The carpet was soaked in 3 different spots, the bottom mattress side was stained and if the bed skirt was on properly I probably wouldn't have seen it. The room very outdated the smoke detector squaked all night, Was offered another room, But declined because it was the only jacuzzi room. Offered a refund which was not noted. I checked out and Cesar told me to email to reservations, "management" with no reply, and was told she would return Thursday. Got a hold of manager "Sheila" she then told me I needed to contact expedia which I did because it was 3rd party. Now Expedia is saying they can not reach or get an approval for my refund from the hotel. If your looking for a nice place to rest your head this IS not it."
