What People Are Saying

from Google & Yelp

"Lovely spot with fresh pastries, coffee drinks and a concise breakfast/brunch menu. Limited inside seating with an industrial kitchen vibe, covered outside seating available until 2. Four star rating on atmosphere because it’s not somewhere I’d stay for a leisurely meal, although to be fair we came after 2 when the patio was closed. Perfect spot to have a quick, tasty bite or get takeout. Love their mission to help those impacted by crime and love the straightforward menu, which makes choosing what to eat easy :) Cakes are available for order - how cool is that??"

"OMG, this place! Love the bright open, casual vibe with exposed professional bakery kitchen. It’s like walking into a friend’s studio home kitchen who happens to be an awesome professional baker. Got an Americano with their Cozy Bear special (honey, vanilla and cinnamon) and it was the PERFECT fall drink. I have tried all the 4+ star coffee shops in SLO and this one rises to the TOP for americano quality and flavor. Display case had a bountiful display of freshly baked goods. Normally I have to avoid ordering anything due to my pe air and tree nut allergies. But I found out the baker does not use any nuts due to customer allergies (like me) so I was able to enjoy so many (too many) of the beautifully baked treats so I let loose and ordered everything my eyes have been craving, deprived after years of avoidance. The pumpkin maple white chocolate scone is a fall MUST. Drizzled with light maple icing, dripping over a perfectly spiced pumpkiny scone interior that had a tender crumb that melted in my tongue. Classic croissant was light and flaky on the outside and soft, airy and buttery on the inside, mmmmm. I will be saving the chocolate chip cookie and cheesecake muffin for an afternoon treat. Both, I was told by locals are a MUST TRY. As is the cinnamon swirl french toast. That will be my next visit! They do have a savory menu for more traditional breakfast and lunch entrees, yet another reason to return :) This is so rare, to find a local high-quality bakery that does not bake any items with nuts! To all my peanut and tree nut allergy people, break free, breathe easy and come and enjoy The Bridge Cafe!"

"Worst burrito I have ever had in my life. My partner said the same. Seemed like the lid fell off the pepper when they were cooking and they just didn't care. It was almost entirely potato, except for a bit of egg at one end. The croissants were NOT croissants. They were thrice folded BREAD. One slice of ham, with an almost invisible very thin layer of cheese and a large pocket of AIR. Worst almond croissant I've ever had in my life as well. Once again, thrice folded bread. I would recommend this to someone who enjoys eating spoonfuls of sugar. What a waste of $32. Luckily for them my partner was very hungry and the bakery across the street was behind schedule otherwise I would have demanded a full refund. Lovely dress on a pig. Would make a great location for a coffee shop! Obviously they have their friends posting these positive reviews. This is NOWHERR NEAR a 4.8 when it comes to the food. 1/5."

"Food took about 15 minutes after order. Plenty of parking in the front and enough space to seat. We ordered breakfast burrito, burger and coffees it’s was amazing. Before you exit the door you can write the note where you are coming from. Love the atmosphere, We will gladly return if we find ourselves in the city again."

"I love places like this, where you walk in and are promptly greeted. Ordered a black coffee and the chilaquiles, they were delicious in a red mole sauce, and the salsa verde that came with it was really good too. If I lived here I would definitely go back."
