What People Are Saying
from Google"The newest Izumi matcha store has opened in downtown San Mateo. Although it's not a particularly large store, it is a comfortable size. The high ceiling gives it an airy feel, but it can get a bit noisy with people talking. While there is no seating available, you can stand inside to enjoy your drink. This location features two touch screens for ordering, compared to just one at the Cupertino store. A notable advantage of this new store is the significantly shorter waiting time. I ordered a Strawberry Matcha Double Shot, and it was prepared quickly. The taste was just as good as at the Cupertino location, not overly sweet and quite satisfying. Now, I don’t have to drive far to enjoy my favorite matcha."
"They have to the nerve to serve a premium priced 10oz of water + matcha and casually serve it lukewarm and whisked in a mass manufactured bowl with a plastic whisk. They even have 2 options, one for $12 and one for $35. I got the $12 one and it is just okay. Go to maruu seicha in Palo Alto if you are looking for the matcha that tastes flavorful. They dont even trust the taste of their matcha enough to serve a cold unsweetened drink. Absolute joke, don’t go here."
"I just went to the San Mateo location and it was still closed as of Jan 22 2026!"
