"A quaint, community-focused gaming cafe. I spoke to the owner and they are a fascinating and engaging individual who is on a mission to create a positive and wholesome environment for people to have fun in. The place has a small footprint but it makes up for it with its welcoming atmosphere. Despite the somewhat confusing streets of Santa Cruz, there is a convenient parking garage just across the street. The place is somewhat tucked away but it's more than worth visiting."

"I love this place so much! They are so nice and welcoming it feels like another game day/night at a friend's house and not really like a public space so much. The atmosphere is really nice and I love the selection. They've also got super cute dice that I always get suckered into buying. I would highly recommend this place for new or experienced gamers! "Absolutely incredible first experience at Game Santa Cruz! Hands down the best tabletop board game selection in Santa Cruz. I’m not much for RPGs, DnD, etc, but it seemed like there was a WIDE selection of content and merchandise for those as well. Without a doubt the largest selection of content within Santa Cruz County. Could have spent a few more hours looking thru things! Wes, the owner, was extremely knowledgeable and we had a great conversation for a while about his stock, the board game cafe model, and the differences of standard vs deluxe editions of board games. He was very helpful to all the customers who came in while I was there—some just looking for gifts, people more “in-the-know,” students looking for a fun activity, etc. They have 3 tables, and it’s a by-the-hour rental system to play any of the games from their library of 100+ titles that Wes hand-selected. A favorite quote from my brief time in the store was that Wes said he “only stocks games that he would play himself!” The store is very well-laid-out, and the vibes are fantastic. They are also a Stonemaier Affiliate, for all you Wingspanners out there! (Or if you like Scythe, Viticulture, etc. etc. etc.) I walked out happy and excited for the future of this new establishment (and with the modular board for Scythe—if that gives you an idea of the extensive variety they’ve got).
