"**4.6/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ Bread & Butter Los Angeles: Buttery Croissants That Brighten Your Morning** Tucked on the charming stretch of Melrose Place, **Bread & Butter** is the kind of fresh bakery that makes you slow down and savor the little things 🥐☀️. The space is light and airy—white walls, marble counters, and a display case overflowing with golden pastries that gleam under the lights. Everything looks (and smells) like it just came out of the oven, because it probably did. The classic **croissant** is seriously good: beautifully laminated with a shiny egg-wash exterior, it tears apart with a satisfying flake and reveals a soft, honeycombed interior. The **buttery** flavor is rich and authentic—real European-style butter shines through without being greasy. It’s the kind of croissant that pairs perfectly with coffee or stands alone as breakfast bliss. The **host was nice** and welcoming, offering quick smiles and helpful suggestions even during the morning rush. Pastries are clearly baked fresh throughout the day, and the quality shows. That said, minor deductions hold it back from perfection. **Parking** on Melrose Place is notoriously tough—metered spots fill instantly, and nearby lots can add up fast. The croissant could use **more butter** for that extra decadent richness some of us chase, and I’d love **more layers** for even greater shatter and airiness compared to the absolute elite. Bread & Butter still earns a strong 4.6 for delivering consistently fresh, buttery joy in a lovely setting. It’s become my go-to weekend treat stop near The Grove or Farmers Market. Worth the parking hassle—grab a croissant (or three) and enjoy it on their little patio. I’ll be back soon."

"Blown away by this place - the best pastries in LA hands down. It reminded me of the quality of croissant you would get in Paris. I’d recommend trying to get there early to get your first pick and avoid a long line. There’s a small counter inside where you can see the bakers hard at work pounding butter into pastry dough and baking everything fresh before your eyes. The staff were very helpful and they walked us through all of the options as it was our first time. My favorite item was the caramel glazed croissant - delicate, rich, flaky, buttery. A delight. If you really have a sweet tooth I’d recommend the morning bun filled with cinnamon and cardamom and a healthy dusting of cinnamon sugar. We also tried the sausage roll - only available on weekends. It was a bit greasy but a good hearty option if you want something more filling. There was plenty of outside seating with water conveniently available for everyone. We did not order coffee, but it is available if you want something to go with your sweet treat. I will definitely be back."

"What a fun spot to start the day!! Some of the best pastries you’ll ever have - highlights are the morning bun, cinnamon roll (available on the weekend only), and nduja croissant - and just great vibes all around from their open kitchen to their lovely staff. Been back three times already and will definitely be adding this to my bakery rotation."

"Instantly became one of our favorite bakeries! The butter croissant, and the one with added sea salt and caramel coating are legit some of the best we've ever had. Don't shy away from the caramel one if you're avoiding sweets - it's a hint of sweetness, well balanced with the salt on top. One of the best bites in LA! Everything else we tried was great too. The people are friendly. There's a good amount of outdoor seating with a nice vibe. Love it!"

"This is hands down the best bakery I've been to anywhere in the world. The croissants and UNREAL! The lamination is gorgeous, they have lovely flaky outer layers, but the inside is so soft and buttery. This croissant is straight up better than any croissant I've had in Paris. I've already introduced a bunch of friends to the B&B croissants and everyone agrees that they're incredible. But that's not all this bakery does. I'm in the middle of a mission to try everything on the menu - and yes the specific menu changes every day. I had one morning bun weeks ago and I haven't stopped thinking about it. The sweet Danish? Fire. The breakfast bun? While not a laminated dough, still fantastic! The coconut cake? A heavy but not too sweet delicacy that will fill you up. The only thing I've had that I wouldn't get again is the cherry bomb, but that's a me flavor preference. It's still a well constructed goodie. But the other absolute star of the show? THE FREAKING SANDWICHES. Good golly Almighty are those things good! While I could get on my high horse about the crust not being overly crusty on their baguettes, the reality is that the bread is delicious and I'm not destroying my mouth for a sandwich. All the flavor combos are simple but so so good. Grab a sandi and hit the sand - trust. I can't praise this bakery enough, and you should definitely check it out, but also if you don't I'm (selfishly) happy to keep it an approachable neighborhood gem."
