What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"What a cute unique, charming and historical coffeehouse. South Broadway has officially lost its character over the years, but this coffee house definitely brings it back. Outside seating ,inside seating. Beautiful retro chic style and it’s way bigger all the way in the back. Such remarkable character truly enjoyed coming to this café. My Carmel latte was nutty, creamy so good 😊 . I waa really needing a hearty breakfast , their burrito was so good and the flavor and taste was amazing. I loved how they had a crisp finish to it. Definitely filled me up for sure .Highly recommend coffee spot if you over down by Southbroadway."
"Maybe I’m trippin, but this may be my favorite coffee in Denver. “The best” is subjective, but it’s great coffee. I travel all over the country and world, and this is coffee done very well. I LOVE how late they are open, even on weeknights. Very happy to have found this gem! The WiFi requires a code, they always ask before I even have a chance. They are very helpful and transparent about the length of use."
"I really dig the vibe for working. From out of town and needed somewhere on a Friday night. It was open until midnight. Was quiet. Coffee was good. Snacks were good. Barista was a vibe. Medium amount of spots to sit. I could see it getting filled up quick. Plenty of outlets. Saw a dude PC gaming, so the WiFi must be bananas. WiFi password at the cost of a purchase. I also loved that i could focus and be quiet in Bardo, but know I was in the area of “energy”. This matters for me and keeps me motivated when working at places. Highly recommend."
"I’ve been a loyal customer of Bardo Coffee House for years and have always enjoyed the environment. But during my most recent visit, I learned something surprising: you must purchase a drink in order to receive a Wi-Fi code — a policy that is not posted anywhere in the shop or clearly mentioned on their punch cards. In fact, the cards read “FREE WIFI” prominently, and the only fine print mentions how to earn punches for drinks, with no mention that a purchase is required for internet access. When I calmly brought this up to the manager — without anger or attitude — her demeanor changed immediately. She became noticeably defensive, which strongly suggested to me that this isn’t the first time this concern has been raised, and she knows the signage (or lack thereof) is misleading. That kind of response from management says a lot. It’s not the Wi-Fi policy itself that’s the issue — it’s the lack of transparency and the unwillingness to own or correct it when politely addressed. If you’re going to require a purchase for Wi-Fi, that’s fine — just say so clearly on your materials or in the shop. Customers deserve that honesty and clarity. I hope Bardo will choose to address this in a straightforward way, because until then, it comes across as false advertising — and that erodes trust."
"4.5/5 - great coffee, didn’t try any food besides the pumpkin bread that’s cooked at a local bakery (delicious). Will return and possibly bump the score after trying to food. Coffee is solid and par for the course regarding cost-flavored ratio. The vibe inside is wonderful, one of my favorite coffee shop interiors in Denver. Great for studying or working from home. Location is a little rough right outside Broadway - the outdoor seating is pretty unpleasant because it sits right on what is essentially a 5-lane highway, but that is Denver’s fault mostly. Great access to this spot with the bike lane nearby. I want to visit again and try some of their other food options before potentially bumping to a 5. This is a special spot and the people of the neighborhood obviously love it. I just wish it was on a calmer street."
